Streaming a game is NOT the same as playing online. If you don't even have a very good ping in an online match, PSNow will be unplayable.

Yeah imho I honestly think old/older games are overated because of memory/nostalgia. Heck Chuckie Cheese was awesome back in the day. Eat pizza go play Final Fight, Street Fighter 2, TMNT TIT and Mortal Kombat! woo hooo! But would I really want to go there today? Probably not. Also there is emulation that can be done for basically free with most mid priced laptops and desktops can run PS2 or Wii games upscaled with AA etc. perfectly fine which actually trumps the NEED to pay for older games imho.

Is there a market for old/older games? Sure! yet it is imho a very small market. Should the PSNow exploit it for profit? Maybe it's up to them if it worth thier time and they can turn a profit. People on a site like this and most other ones IGN etc. WANT to see the big NEW games and the BIG NEW NEWS about them, not the ancient games of the past when compared to the NEW stuff.

There's memories and there's the actual game and the memories are made up of the newness we experienced back then and playing them again there is a huge glaringly obvious fact that the game is fun, but not NEW and EXCITING like your memory believes. If that makes any sense. Don't get me wrong there is some classics that are timeless, but there are very few of them sadly.

That is why you must keep the past in your memories, trying to revive them will only led up to disappointment.

well it is teh future of everything,streaming/cloud whatever you want to call it but it isn't ready to go yet is it

i don't see why nintendo and sony don't get their older games out on other platforms though if they can easy money from the big wide casual world especially nintendo with their back catalogue

You seriously want to stream games on Brazil's internet? Yeaaaaah, I'm not so sure that's such a good idea.

And the idea of being completely unable to play my games if the internet goes down... yeah, I'm not sure I like that.

If anything, the service will prevent you from second hand purchasing a PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP.

I doubt Sony will release PS4 and Vita games on the service, and if they do that will be the end of Playstation, dont think they are that stupid :P.

Their profit come from the games, and some of their hardware are really expensive even sold at loss. I think that they really want get rid off the playstation hardware. They even said that they want to do the trasition for next step of gaming.

They also make profit from 3rd party games. Less PS4's sold means less 3rd party games sold on their systems.

Well, I doubt they are gonna stream ps4 games but if you don't care much for Sony ps4 games and have an x1, then yea, you don't really need a ps4 but if you do care for Sony games and don't have an x1, then you might still want to get a ps4 cause of both the first party and third party next gen games...

Playstation Now is interesting, thats for sure... Being able to play games such has Last of Us and Ni No Kuni on my smartphone/tablet is a really nice treat... I think its a smart move for Sony cause there is no way it will be available on an X1 or wiiU... but we will see how it goes

It would most likely stink for at least a couple of years like PS home did. Good luck relying on it.

This.

Especially Nintendo who has a huge catalogue of games, they could make a App and call it "Virtual Console" - release it on PC and mobiles/tablets alongside the WiiU and 3DS.

Be it like a digital distribution program (think of Steam for an example) where people will be able to pay for games (and if they own a game from the current virtual console it could just transfer over - of course they would need an account system) on their own chosen platform. Of course limit the App/Program with only NES, SNES, N64, GCN, GB/GBC and GBA games.

I think they should do a 2 gen rule where a current gen and its previous gen should not be available (so that way any additional units they still make of a previous gen i.e. Wii Mini could still sell alongside the current gen i.e. WiiU).

Of course I am not counting licensing issues/royalty fees and all, just saying it might be a good idea but who knows it could be a financially bad idea :P. But its either that or have people play pirated roms/isos of games via emulators - this could be a solution to combat piracy as well.

it can't be far away especially for nintendo as they have so many games they can use for the mobile market, core console buyers will always buy consoles i think and obviously you wouldn't put current gen on the store

an outright cloud service wil only work in certain areas anyway judging by connections

PS Now is for legacy games only. PS4 is the way to go for most people I think.
