"Some people say the latest tomb raider game is just an uncharted clone."

The problem people have with this is that they wanted a Tomb Raider game, not an Uncharted one. Effectively this new gameplay type killed any chance of future Tomb Raider-like games.

And then people who like the new direction then say 'get over it, games change"

Your post can be taken more than one way.  You're saying people didn't want an Uncharted game so they didn't make Tomb Raider classic style right?  Because classic style Tomb Raider is like Uncharted with auto aim.  This new Tomb Raider has Uncharted combat, is less Uncharted in the world itself though, more like Assassin's Creed, except Lara can be controlled in mid air to make ridiculous jumps that would be impossible otherwise.

I actually dislike the new Tomb Raider.  Got 60% of the way through.

A lot of people liked it. And a lot of critics liked it. It was a great game if linear action sequences are the thing that you like.

So no, you're saying the new one nis like Uncharted, not what I thought you were saying.  Anyways, no.  It's not a great game if linear action sequences are the thing that you like.  Tomb Raider was so monotonous with the open world section, lots of back and forth travel to find what you were looking for then progress through the game.  The few parts where there are linear action sequences were where one open world map led into another.

The classic Tomb Raiders and Uncharted, those are linear action sequences.  When going through the games, you hae one straight path to follow.  Now there are some branching areas in each of these games because completing something on one path makes something where you can progress on another path.  But that was as far branching as it went.

Basically when reaching one point in a game, you were pretty much there until you found out how to progress.  It didn't force you to backtrack here, then here, then back here once again.  It didn't have monotonous open world gameplay with no danger while you either tried to progress or you looked for treasures sitting around, etc.

It was really nothing like Uncharted except combat.  The old ones, those were like Uncharted.

All this is my opinion though, except the older ones being more like Uncharted than the new one.

Even when video games first started they were based of something else...so nothings ever been 100% original

I never played Minecraft but I think you can't create worlds and contructions like Minecraft.

Worlds are randomly generated in Minecraft. You can also create basically anything.

Even if they are different, they still share the same principles, meaning Don't Starve isn't 100% original.
