Forums - Sony - Sony is So Slick (Always Online Digital Purchases)

So microsoft was going always online with their xbone and people got furious and made microsoft retract that. With always online and no trade ins their was a benifit of family sharing.

Now here we have Sony who decides to not join microsoft and go both disk based and online digital your choice.

But being part of the whole playstation ecosystem I can say that to get the best experience you have to be always online and go full digital.

That's due to the ps vita doing remote play.

Since I am able to get internet access on the vita almost anywhere i go i am able to do remote play at almost all times. Here is the problem: my games are all disk based and it just doesnt work out :'( forcing me to buy digital only for the games that I really want to play otg.

Sony is so sleezy :p

Isn't there lag using 3G for remote play?

Then buy nicer games.

OT: This is quite the particular case though. I know you are half joking and all, but to be able to have the option to play offline is the big deal with most people (including myself) who were up in arms at always online.

my att 4g lte lag comes out to be about the same as my really laggy lg tv so about 150-200ms. It's not gamebreaking and does work pretty good.

This could be why I had to push/swim through hundreds of PS4 units to find a vita in orlando

Wouldn't the PS Vita only be able to access around 3G of AT&T network considering it was built for 3G not 4G?  There are rumours of a 4G Vita being made by Sony.

If your LG has a game mode, turn it on.  Quality of the image gets a bit worse but with a little tweaking you can make it ltook a little better.  If your game mode is already on and it has bad lag, then yeah, that sucks.  Game mode basically reduces image quality a little and removes certain options in order to remove display lag.

Here's a website for next time you purchase a tv though.  If it's been reviewed on this website, anything in the excellent and great categories is worth getting.

I'll use an argument from the other side to show how silly this is.
It's just an option! Options are good, right? And even with always online, the benefits to being able to play your games anywhere in the world highly outweighs the negatives.

The previous has been a verbatim reasoning behind xb1 pre 180....except xb1 pre 180 was mandatory, and not an option.

Ofcourse it will lag. That's why you use 4G!(mobile hotspot)
