Throw caution to the wind and take the chance. At the end of the day, if it doesn't work out, you'll feel horrible for abandoning your friends. But if you go on the trip with your friends and miss this chance you'll likely regret it for the rest of your life.

Just don't make blowing off your friends a habit, bros before hoes and all that.

That's what i have been feeling, if i don't take the chance, then i might miss out on something great, but if it fails, then it was a mistake worth taking. Plus i'll still be in america, so i'll just get drunk and find someone else there hahaha

That's the spirit. Make a backup plan in case it goes sour, so at the very least you have a vacation in the US. And keep in touch with friends/family while you are over there, particularly around the time(s) you meet up.

I definitely recommend watching the documentary film Catfish, if you haven't already.

I have honestly never heard of catfish before, but after a quick google search, it only leaves me more confused, then again, i'm an avid fan of documentary's. So i'll watch it regardless :)

No ahhaa, i live in australia, and i'm going to america to see her.

Hey, the girl I want to date moved to Australia for a year (comes back in a few months) so if you could go to somewhere near Melbourne and bring her back to North America for me, then I'll support your really expensive date.

Do NOT spend your own money to travel to meet people you've met over the internet.

The problem is, she is locked into a contract for a year, so she cant actually travel until 2015, and i simply cannot wait that long.

You're severely underestimating how likely this is a scam.

Her story is extremely convenient, and her words to you exactly what you want to hear.

Yeah, this contract raised flags for me. What contract is she locked into?

We have a word for people like you here, "Pollerudo". I bet your friends aren't going to be happy if you tell them why you blew them off.

There is nothing wrong with being a "Pollerudo" though. Although what are you planning to do once the trip is over?
She isn't going to come with you to Australia! What are you going to do then? Well at least you'll get to fuck I guess.
