Great for Attack on Titan, it sold 3M last year, the anime has probably boosted sales. Happy for Magi too, One Piece is less dominant (38M in 2011)

The Mangas dropped a lot in sales in 2013... Naruto, Bleach, etc had less sales compared with previous years too.
And to be fair I can't see another huge franchise like One Piece in the near future... I think only Nana in the last ten years could reach similar sales per volume that OP did.

That starts to make sense... 18 million is too low for OP... so there are one more volume to add in the numbers... ~3 million? 21m for 2013? Still low numbers but at least close to the avg sales of OP in Japan (~25m per year). |
it's always end november the ranking, in 2011 One piece sold 38M between nov2010 and nov2011.

Death Note easily dominated one piece at a time, it's really from 2009 one piece dominated the competition strongly.

If I remember the previous rankings only Nana topped One Piece in some volumes... for the year OP was in the top.
Can you show some yearly racking with Death Note on TOP? Death Note was a ~2 million per volume series... OP was always a ~3 million per volume series.
The data I have is...
12 Volumes 2003-2006: 27 million copies sold
39 Volumes 1997-2006: 115 million copies sold
That was what OP sold in a year in these years.

I found it but originally I read it a long time ago in Weekly Shōnen Jump, it was the same in 2005.

Interesting
There's been no major event in One Piece last year so the drop doesn't surprise me.

And Death Note was only from December 2003 to May 2006, in top selling manga 2006 the volume 1-9 released in 2004 and 2005 were present, sales were really impressive.
Besides I don't think a manga do better than one piece over a year.
