While i get what you're saying, if Sony thought they could have made more money by going to Cloud-based system, i'm sure they would have fully implemented that instead of the Ps4 we have now. Also with PSnow, They'll probably have Ps++ (or some other moniker), that gives the subscriber access to multiplayer, free games, and the huge back catalog they've built up over the last 20 years.

Like I said, they'd have seen the reason to build a PS4 as a fallback. For starters, not every country will be able to stream gaming content. That requires internet with decent latency.

It could explain why it took so long for either Sony or Microsoft to announce this gen (longer than usual), because they were weighing up their options.

I'd say PSNow will incorporate PS+ functionality (not fully, but it will be similar). Multiplayer games will just be one massive server instance with multiple views transmitted to players, which will eliminate a lot of crosstalk between instances of games, as well as eliminate cheating.

Don't forget that even after buying Gaikai and deciding the project for quite some time (years) just now they will release in USA and in Europe they just say the internet isn't good enough.

Sony could make PS4 games available through Playstation Now on any platform for a US$ 200,00 initial signing and US$ 50,00 maintenance of PSN+ plus the cost of the game... don't think many would bite that.

That would be because of stupid business practise.

You're not going to find anybody willing to pay for an initial signing to a nonphyiscal service. Just have a monthly fee...

And Sony won't release PS4 games outside PS4 so that was just a way to say it won't happen.

And you're basing this on what, exactly?

If there's more money/ greater control  involved Sony will not stop doing something just because you say they wont...

Because if being available in more places were their intention they would release their exclusive on the PC or make a Steam like service a long time ago.

You expect me to believe this stance after your previous post mentioned "buying Gaikai years ago"? You just contradicted yourself  there.

Yes, that's been Sony's intention all along, since BEFORE acquiring Gaikai (companies don't just hastily make 1 minute decisions to buy other companies). Why aren't Sony going direct to PC? Because they'd remove the publishing platform that makes them the most money. No, it wasn't until they saw Steam as a profitable business venture that they wanted in on the action. A cloud based service allows a broader consumer base of potential sales, while retaining that publishing platform to do business with 3rd parties.

Not good enough now, but how many countries are in the process of fixing this? Just like what's been happening the past 15 years, you'll see internet adapting pretty damn quickly to the demand of corporate interests...

To say that PS4 on PSNow "will not happen" is just plain short-sightedness...

No contradiction... Gaikai was bought to have their games distributed in the cloud as they would preffer not as you think is best for them. Since forever they said Gaikai was to stream PS3 games for a lot of platforms, never PS4 games... you are streaching... maybe you want to play PS exclusives but hate the console?

It will happen after PS4 is strong enough when PS5 get released.

Promoting the company he's working for. Fascinating.

Not even Iwata would say that about the PS4.

Gabe would if it was an Xbone.

Hopefully they don't let their success go to their heads when PS5 comes around and we get another PS3. I feel like MS saw such a big console over console install base they just let it go to their heads when they whipped up X1. Became more about money and less about the consumer.
