Forums - Microsoft - Titanfall. Why do some find it hard to believe it will Meta very high?

Anything less than 98 is a fail, honestly. Even my grandfather is hyped beyond belief and he has never played a game before.

If the servers hold 95, if not 85.
I don't get the downplay of some people. It has the hype and it is the sole thing that will keep the X1 from failing completely in 2014.

But I will have fun watching the X1 fans writhing in agony when the Titanfall bubble burst and X1 will be back to apocalyptical sales. I don't think we will see another new exclusive IP of the Titanfall caliber for the X1 in quite some time.

most reviews are prelaunch thus servers should be fine

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Honestly? I think many are just upset it isn't on PS4.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Quantum Break? Black Tusks new IP? Both these games are fist party and likly have bigger budgets than Titanfall. Black Tusk is Microsofs new BIG first party Studio.

I was a little excited for it until I found out that it was multiplayer only. That killed all of my hype for it.

Which makes most reviews worthless for a multiplayer online only title. The experience of that depends entirely on how the userbase interacts with the game, not how a bunch of buddy game journalists play against the developers in a controlled environment.

Too little known about both projects to make a prediction but I don't think they will reach Titanfall level excitement. They will be released after the X1 hype has subsided so they won't be carried by it like Titanfall. Will be interesting to see though if they can make an impact hardware sales wise.

Alien: Colonial Marines had tons of show awards too.

Seriously, the game isn’t even out for a couple more months and people are already expecting it to get a 14,676 metaritic score and win game of the millennium. I’m looking forward to playing it, but a part of me wants it to get a meta of 60 just so we can see Selnor’s next wave of threads/posts trying to justify his raging hard on for a mediocre game. The Ryse ones were pretty entertaining ^^

I assume that excuse will be used yes if it indeed scores high

I don't think it will do that well. I've seen plenty of other games recently that were hyped and even had good previews but then ended up having mediocre to decent reviews. I've come up with a pretty good system for predicting metascores. Whatever I think it will be, knock off 5-10 points for established franchises and 10-20 points for new franchises and that is what it really will end up at. So my initial thought was that Titanfall will be roughly low 90's so in reality I predict it will be about 75 on Metacritic (give or take 5 points).
