WiiU 7/10 Few games, but some really fantastic ones
3DS 10/10 so many high-quality exclusive games from beginning to end of the year

PS4 3/10 Disappointing launch with no interesting exclusives, but the hardware has potential
PS3 9/10 Great exclusives and great multiplattform-games
Vita 3/10 Too many old games and games that has better versions on home-consoles, exclusives fail to make an impact. Relegated to peripheral-status

XBOX360 0/10 No good exclusives makes this console a complete failure in 2013
XBOX ONE 5/10 At least tried to have some good games day one, but hardware fails to impress me

Okay lets give this a stab

PS3 - 8/10 - Very solid effort, lots of interesting new IPs and favorite staples.
360 - 7/10 - First party was a bit lacking, but the 3rd party releases still meant it had a very nice year.
Wii - 1/10 - This is just a Just Dance machine now right?

PS4 - 7/10 - Like the 360, First party has been underwhelming, but damn, those FIFA and Need for Speed releases. Third party really helping the new hardware shine.
Wii U - 8/10 - From a game perspective, after a dire first 6 months, the Wii U has really come into it's own for me lately. It's certainly got a couple of my favourite home console games of the year on it.
XB1 - 6/10 - I'll be honest, I don't have one yet, but it's had a pretty solid launch, however it's too expensive IMO and the majority of games are better purchased on the PS4.

3DS - 7/10 - Sales-wise it's been a stunner, but with the exception of Luigi's Mansion 2 and Zelda, most of it's big hitters don't really appeal to me (not really been into Pokemon since the original GB ones, Animal Crossing never clicked) and the game lineup is pretty limited in scope (great if you love RPGs but, I have other preferred genres)
Vita - 9/10 - Despite the lack of massively high profile releases, it's had a fantastic year for me and been my most used system by far. Highlights have been Hotline Miami, Thomas Was Alone, Soul Sacrifice, Killzone and Tearaway. But as racing games are one of my preferred genres, it's the presence of titles like WRC4 and Moto GP 13 which have really helped elevate this to my preferred system of 2013 as I spend a lot of time commuting to and from work.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Wii U - 3/10
Disastrous year: delayed games = delayed sales

Sometimes it´s better to delay games!!! I am really happy that Nintendo is one of the companys who delay games to secure a quality game instead of releasing an unfinished game like Battlefield 4!!! We can be very happy that Nintendo don´t act like EA!!!

Wii - 0/10
No games to talk about.

X360 - 3/10
Very few exclusives but good third party support continuing.

PS3 - 10/10
Great lineup of third and first party games.

3DS - 10/10
Amazing lineup of huge and smaller titles and great sales.

PS Vita - 6/10
Poor sales but an increasing amount of interesting games, 2014 will decide the destiny.

PS4 - 6/10
Great sales but poor launch lineup and not many interesting games for Q1/2 2014. Has a very promising future though.

Xbox One - 6/10
Good launch sales, lineup and good 2014 lineup, however the price is too high and early DRM policies have left their mark, while there is some doubt it looks like it has a decent looking future.

Wii U - 5/10
Horrible first part of the year along with continuing terrible third party support, great Fall and Winter titles boost it up from being a total failure for it. Future is uncertain.

As a whole the year is probably around a 4/10. Lots of terrible games and controversies like DRM and Micro-transactions, the Wii U had a rougher year than anyone could've imagined and the PSOne launches were okay at best as a whole. It was a great year to game on the PS3 and 3DS and while the Vita wasn't breaking any records it could've be doing a lot worse.

Ps3 - 9/10. Great year. We got great titles like The Last Of Us and Ni No Kuni.

3DS - 10/10 - We got many great titles to add such an already grand collection of games. Also, this was basically the year of the 3DS.

360 - NA - My broke early this year. So i basically missed out.

Vita - 7/10 - I personally dont own one but my friend does and is a pretty neat system plus some good (from the looks of it) looking games.

Wii U - NA - haven't really tried anything on it.

Last Gen

NDS - 1/10

Absolutely nothing worthwhile released for the system and it sold like trash.

Wii - 2/10

Absolutely nothing worthwhile released for the system and it sold like trash.

PSP - 4/10

Absolutely nothing worthwhile released for the system yet it held its own.

Xbox 360 - 6/10

Not enough exclusives, yet more than enough games to play. Sold well.

PS3 - 8/10

Many great excluvies, many great games. Sold relatively well.

Current Gen

3DS - 10/10

Brilliant year for both software and sales.

PSV - 4/10

Sold like trash yet games continued to be released.

Wii U - 4/10

Quite a few great games, yet it sold like trash.

Xbox One - 6/10

Great opening, great games.

PS4 - 8/10

Record breaking launch despite a lack of quality exclusives.

Sales don't matter for this subject. You judged PS4, Wii U, and Vita practically entirely based off of sales.

The fact that Nintendo made gamers wait more than half a year was embrassing and for me at least it severly damaged my trust in Nintendo home console market.  People such as myself who bought it in late 2012 were pretty much left in the dust literally especially with the high launch price. I've never regretted a console purchase but the Wii U was the first one to almost make me reconsider that I should've saved that cash for a PS4 or Xbox One instead.

Nintendo as a company who has been in this business longer than both Sony and MS should've known better and should have had a back up plan even if that meant just relying on third party multiplatform titles, nothing is not an excuse. But what happened to that? All the promises for third parties from E3 2011, was it? Came in the end to nothing and personally adds onto why I think the Wii U deserves such a low score for this year, Nintendo clearly wasn't ready.

So you would really like to play an unfinished game like Battlefield 4 instead of waiting longer for a quality game??? You should play Battlefield 4 then, i think you will be maybe the only one who will have fun to play it ;)

Or I can just go to another platform that acutally has a healthy stream of quality games coming out for it and instead buy games for that without having to deal with all this trouble. No one's forcing me to buy Battlefield 4 and I won't because it's a buggy mess because I have other options. The fact that Nintendo's own 3DS doesn't have this problem shows how inexcusable the whole Wii U situation was and is.

Especially since the 3DS had also a pretty rough start you would think Nintendo has learnt from that so the exact same thing doesn't happen to the Wii U but I guess not.

I believe that Nintendo is also not happy about the last years sales for the Nintendo Wii U which are getting better right now, but to drive hardware sales you need awesome games!!! And to create awesome games you need time, and Nintendo is not a company who releases unfinished games like other developers or publishers!!! I think they learned about the Nintendo 3DS start, but they are just not able to create enough great quality games in such a short time by themself which the Nintendo Wii U really  need to drive more hardware sales. But with the release of great games the sales are going up and with them the 3rd party developers maybe come back!!! Don`t give up on the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo, if you do you will miss alot of great games in the next 5-6 years, trust me ;)
