Just took a look at the "hardware by date" under tools. Looks like Sony is heavily focusing on Europe while Microsoft is focusing hard on USA.

The majority of the us stock sold or was being held back by companies for black friday and bundling, same sort of deal for europe only with a longer tail on sales due to later launch, the mid to late december numbers will be pretty high too because it launches in some parts of asia in just over a week.
