There we go. PR is starting.

So  let me get this straight.

-Sony puts up a thank you video and the reaction is "Aww isn't that sweet!" (as seen here)
-Micrsoft puts up a thank you note with some stats and the reaction is "Argh rabble rabble PR bull***"

Really? That's ridiculous. Give credit where credit is due. Both machines sold well and the early adopters are enjoying their games.

I'm not a fan of Dead Rising so I'd rather play Dead Nation.  It also keeps track of how many zombies have been killed.

That's nice and all, but what does Dead Nation have to do with this thread?

Xbox One is furthering its position as the most popular online multiplayer community for gamers, who are taking Xbox One games by storm, including:

Over 3 billion zombies killed in “Dead Rising 3”

Saying they're the most popular online multiplayer community and showing stats makes it debatable.  I bring up Dead Nation because of  this.  It's a well developed on or offline single player and multiplayer game which also tracks how many zombies are killed both by player and region.

Maybe I'll get on Dead Nation later and post some stats.  That image is prerelease.

So you believe Dead Nation is more popular?

Dead Nation was given out free after the PSN hack, so i would imagine the stats to be much higher than Dead Rising.

they keep track of how people play?

Xbox has always kept metrics on what people do.  They have done this in Halo, Gears, etc.

And how many consoles sold?

This is a thread about what people are doing not console sales.

This is a site about sales + a PR statement boasting the early success of XBox One, sales would be more appropriate. If they can track the nr of miles driven in Forza, surely they can track how many consoles have downloaded the day 1 update and how many copies of each game are responsible for those stats.

Sony: We sold 2.1 million consoles since launch.
MS: Our users killed 3 billion zombies since launch.

Designed to be the all-in-one games and entertainment system, Xbox One is delivering on this promise already with people spending over 50 million hours in games and entertainment on Xbox One in the last eleven days. With unprecedented demand, Xbox One is sold out at major retailers, with the Xbox team and retailers working around the clock to re-stock.

“We are humbled and gratified by the overwhelming response from our fans to the launch of Xbox One. Eleven days in we are seeing record breaking sales and are selling every Xbox One we can make. Demand is far exceeding supply in the 13 countries we’ve launched and we are sold out at retailers around the world. We are seeing incredible usage from our engaged fans who have purchased Xbox One with more than 50 million hours spent on Xbox One games and entertainment,” said Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President of Strategy and Marketing, Xbox.

Xbox One is furthering its position as the most popular online multiplayer community for gamers, who are taking Xbox One games by storm, including:

Over 3 billion zombies killed in “Dead Rising 3”

Over 90 million miles driven in “Forza Motorsport 5” – equal to 3,673 trips around the world

Over 186 million enemies defeated in “Ryse: Son of Rome”

Over 150 million combos in “Killer Instinct”

The team is working hard to meet consumer demand and we are delivering consoles to retailers as fast as possible this holiday season. As more and more people are looking to join the fun, it has become increasingly more challenging to find Xbox One in stores.

MS throwing out pointless and meaningless stats as they know they cannot match sony's numbers. Why anyone actually believes MS pr anymore is beyond me.

Also, how did they know less then 24 hours what x1 sold? Europe is hard to track, it is pretty obvious MS just announced what they shipped.
