Basically you can't have fun if the resolution isn't up to snuff right OP? The agenda you are constantly trying to push is sad. You aren't going to get anyone to convert over or whatever you are trying to do lol

How did you get that out of saying resolution matters??? Didnt say it was everything, stop the deflecting.  Not trying to convert anyone it is simple common sense.

It is sad that some are trying to downplay why it doesn't matter. If it didn't matter why are we still not playing in 480p? Some good points here, it is called progress. There is a reason 1080P is the mark people have been trying to hit for years. Not on you tube or cherry picked stills, on a decent 1080p display, the difference is very noticeable.  Is it everything?? No, but it certainly matters. If I had a choice to play the same game in 720P or 1080p, I think any logical person would rather 1080p.

I come from a  pc gaming background, resolution makes a big difference.

On the flip side, if it really matters that much, why are we wasting time on consoles?

Sigh, been addressed 100 times....read the thread.. PC is the best, but cannot play uncharted, killer instinct, Infamous etc... on PC. Not everyone has a good enough PC nor the money or know how to game on PC or upgrade.

So you're willing to accept a lower resolution to play the games you enjoy.

I think it's awesome that Killzone 6 and Knack are 1080p, that's great for PS4 owners. I, however, have no interest in those games.

However, I wanna play Ryse, and Killer Instinct. Those aren't on PC or the other console.

According to your OP, I should bypass the games I would enjoy playing and pick up those games that would bore me to 1080p tears. But according to the answer you just provided, it's logical to play where the games I enjoy are.

Glad I could clear that up for you, hopefully you see the difference from now on. You're welcome.

Then why is it such an issue for you? Why do you want it to be? Stop the attempted conversion it's not going to work. Obviously people don't care as much as some try to make it out. Most ppl just want to have fun when they sit down and play games not count pixels and see that the trees look ULTRA real. Common sense to have fun enjoying your games not doing or seeing whatever it is you want them to see.

Yet at the end of the day the graphical differences will be minimal at best. Only the ones who aren't tech savvy who think otherwise.

I agree with OP that is why PC has 90% of the gaming market and blu ray made DVD extinct.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

lol. The reason why we are still not playing or watching tv for that matter in 480p is because if we didn't progress then electronics sales would drop to a crawl. Look at the generation before us, most of them owned the same tv etc for 10-20 years.

Now most people are updating every 5 years to keep up with progress. This isn't progress it is for companies to milk your money don't think otherwise. If we were truly about progress only than we would have skipped bluray and gone straight to holographic discs which would be somewhat future proof compared to bluray with the increases with resolution over time.

but it really doesn't matter for people who doesn't have a Full-HD TV...

Why do you even care about consoles then lol Just play on PC if resolution really matter to you.
