English isn't my motherlanguage but or the writer wrote wrong or I didn't understand or he doesn't knowwhat he is talking ababout.

Case he wrote wrong or I misread... MS charge you a new system and refund just after you return the lent unit. It would be okay since it prevents the person from keeping the two systems. And this way you can keep playing after 2 days, which is a nice way to please a customer the defect screwed.

Case the article fucked up... You get refund as soon as you ship your defective unit, which is even better. Still prevent keeping two units without paying the two. I work um aviation and we have this. You receive a replacement and return a "core" (defective item). The only difference ia that In aviation we pay just if we don't return the core (usually within a fortnight)... But usually under a contract between companies or intermediated within an authorized repair station. Not right to customer (that could be ill-intended), and not this spread and uncontrollable. Anyway MS give a free (but slower) alternative (and 14 days isn't absurd).

So this article is either click baiting, bad intentioned or poorly done. All in all I salute MS for the initiative.

PS: In Brazil if a product fails within a week they must Exchange for a new one... In a sold out case you could probably pick your money back or let them send to repair. Never saw this kind of alternative here. Repair here is 30 days TAT (turn around time) for under warranty or you get a new unit, refund or equivalent product (same price of the one you bought when you bought, paid 1000 a year ago pick a 1000 product available today) you choose.

Congratulations MS to stand to your fans and I hope the defects are in small %.

Sorry the cellphone ate all paragraphs separation will review when I get home. Sorry for the wall text and errors.

I heard from a few people that MSFT is charging for defective XOnes. That's pretty messed up, any electronic manufacturer should cover full cost of ship/repair/return ship for their own product fails.

Well I just read the article... and there they just say that you can either received the box for shipping for free (will take normally 14 days to have the unit back) or can pay to have a new one shipped to your house in two days, you pay in advance (to secure the transaction) and receive ALL BACK when you return the defective unit, I don't see the harm in this.
