Forums - Sony - Vita TV's Debut In Japan! Over 42k Sold, How Did It Do?

How are Sales for First Week

Just what i expected 17 9.14%

Not to Shabby 30 16.13%

The Best It Could have done 21 11.29%

So So 44 23.66%

Could of done Better 51 27.42%

Dont Know, Too Early to Tell 22 11.83%

Total:185

From the initial news reports of it selling out in online, I thought that it would actually do 100k units. The sales are a little disappointing to me.

I am surprised that Sony did not make it output 1080p. I am also surprised they didn't bundle it with a DualShock 4, and have it use the touchpad to mimic the touchscreen. This would have potentially improved the compatibility with some games.

If they modify the hardware to output 1080p, and add a DLNA client to it (or at least make it closer to an Apple TV), I would gladly buy it for my bedroom TV.

Around the Network

hope it goes on to vita figures as need the boost for the predictions

i don't totally understand it really,it can stream things/have apps right, play vita games you download off the store i assume

and put your ps4 on another tv ? as someone said

sounds like something sony fans will like but hard to see the others getting into it unless the price is great

Tbone why do you always make so many Vita threads xD

I think it did alright. Being that it is Vita related, I didn't have much high expectations for it. Hopefully people will enjoy and the sales should be combined on Vgchartz. It's essentially the same thing as the XL is to the 3DS, Lite/I to the DS ect.

No, is not. 3DS XL/2DS can play all 3DS games. Vita TV cannot play all Vita games.

My DSi can't play all games that a DS can. DSi plays some games, DS can't. Somehow the sales were combined.

The price is $99, which is really great. It's a pity they are going with Dual Shock 3 instead of 4, since the touch pad seems almost mandatory for it, but I guess this was the financial department's call...

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

The vita tv is a great idea. Probably something I would get a young children for Christmas. Little kids don't need a full console. Also a great thing to pair with your ps4. I probably won't get it, but I already have a vita.
