Wow, saw this on GAF and it's quiet stunning. If you look at the Amazon user reviews for PS4, there are so far 239, 5 star reviews, and 203, 1 star reviews.

Most of the one star reviews appear to be mostly people who got PS4's that were "dead on arrival".

half the reviews does not mean half the consoles, and 16yo whose had a retail job can tell you that most of the time when someone reviews something, its because they are pretty pissed off. You gotta be either EXTREAMLYY happy to take the time to wrote a real review for amazon. or upset.

I think you need to be careful before jumping to conclusions.

1. people who have a bad experience are more likely to complain.
2. you are basing your results on a sample of only 400 reviews....amazon shipped 10 or thousands if not 100's of thousands.
3. Sony are expecting a failure rate of around 0.4%....so thats 4k/million
4. People who have got their console and are enjoying it probably don't want to get away from playing to go and post a review on amazon....they have better things to do.

Everybody that is enjoying their PS4 are too busy to go write an amazon review. Not to mention that some of the negative reviews are sure to be fake, it happens with every product.

People forget the xbox trolls that are trying to make the ps4 get the "bricked" image.They probably are making this reviews too.

Sony can expect whatever failure rate they want it means zero. MS didn't aknowledge RROD at first either.

If anything this might be evidence 0.4% is a joke.

Doubt it there are very few Xbox fans on the internet. Take this poll for example:

Most polls will be that lopsided or even far worse against the Xbox.

Most Xbox videos of any kind on youtube get 30-50% or more thumbs down as well, where it's more like 2% for normal videos of other systems.

But it's still a shocking figure to be so high, regardless. Even if it's only half or 1/4 of that or even less in real life it's still way too high.
