You read that headline right. We're very excited to introduce the Amazon Playstation Network Store, an alternate venue to purchase digital Playstation content for Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and Playstation Vita. 

The downside of going all digital for the next-gen consoles was going to be restricting yourself to only one storefront for potential deals, but now that's not an issue. Sony already leaves its competitors in the dust when it comes to sales, especially with its Playstation Plus program, and adding Amazon's deal muscle to the mix increases the potential savings exponentially.

To celebrate the launch of the store, Amazon will be offering $5 PSN credit back on select digital purchases, and even better, customers who participate in the limited time buy two get one free promotion starting at noon ET today (Tuesday) will also get a bonus $5 PSN credit.

Yes it is big news, for me it is a megaton as an frequent user of Amazon I can't wait for the deals popping up sadly it is at this moment only for (US) but I am sure the other regions will follow :).

i live in europe and game prices have risen to basically double of the 60 dollars you americans pay.
the ps3 is region free on disc based titles but how about if you would buy digital titles from this store.. would it theoretically work even though it is a code that needs to be redeemed?

if so this would allow me to get double the amount of games through the entire generation without increasing my entertainment budget.. :D!

Sweet! I already got my $10 reward zone certificates for my games I bought from Best Buy so now I am going to return two of them and then reorder them through Amazon and get a free game in the process!

i love amazon. i get 3% back on amazon purchases. competition is good. amazon has the wishlist option i've been wanting in the PSN store for ages. VGCz can use amazon to organize a sony version of the "Secret Santa" event. those sexy pre-order sales will probably be valid here. ..does this hint at future digital used game store??

The more competition the better, yet I'm really surprised Sony would allow a competitor to it's own PSN shop on Playstation systems.
