Clue for #30: My first PS3 game: the rebirth of a great series which is now unfortunately pretty much dead after three lackluster entries in a row.

Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction? *edit*  Someone already answered, nevermind.

31. Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader (last year 38), first impression 7.5, replay 9, technical 8

Pros: It brings all the biggest space-battle moments of the original trilogy to life brilliantly, adding in some necessary extra action in some cases (like Yavin and Hoth), and then throwing in some fun new locales for good measure, it's space combat simulation that strikes the right balance between being too "sim" or too "arcade" while still leaning on the arcade side of the fence. Bonus missions and tons of different, quite balanced fighters help out too.

Cons: Difficulty spikes in some cases, like when you enter a Star Destroyer's kill-zone and get torn up in a matter of seconds. Some missions are a bit obtuse when you first start playing the game (hurts first impression score)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Number 30 is a bit of a black sheep in its franchise, which usually features very simple power sets, this one allowed you to mix and match powers and create weird ones like Refrigerator, Laser Sword, Curling, and Dynamite.

Exploding snowman was probably the most fun.

Mr. Khan guessed it right!

#33: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3)

I had skipped Uncharted: Drake's Fortune because the demo didn't click with me but the hype on VGC convinced me to try out the multiplayer demo for Uncharted 2. I was surprise by how much I loved it not being a fan of competitive shooting games. I bought Uncharted 2 on day one and dived into the single player campaign and never really went back to the multiplayer. I loved every second of Among Thieves' campaign, the story was intriguing, the characters fun and interesting (not to mention very handsome), the game strikes a good balance of action sequences, light platforming and puzzle solving, the pacing lets up (unlike UC3). Also, the locations you visit are breathtaking, the view of the mountains in the Tibetan village, the museum in Istanbul, the temples in Nepal, the magnificient jungle of Shambhala, it makes me want to play it again.

Hint for number 30.

Recently answered number 30 of someone else.  I'll edit if I can think of a good hint.

#32: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)

The Legend of Zelda made an incredibly successful transition to 3D with Ocarina of Time.  They managed to keep true to the Zelda structure of finding items, beating dungeons, looking for pieces of heart and other hidden treasure while making the adventure bigger than ever. The game features a good number of dungeons (including the infamous Water Temple who is not so bad as it's made out to be), great new mechanic like Z-targetting and the ocarina with its multiple songs that help you along the way, horse riding across the fields of Hyrule with Epona. There's also tons of collectible and side-quests like the gold skulltulas, the big poes, that crazy trading sequence to get the Biggoron Sword and of course finding all pieces of heart.

#31: Mega Man 2 (NES)

Simply put the best Mega Man game out there. Tons of challenge, two diffculty modes, the best weapon ever (metal blades for the clueless) and kickass music (the intro song is actually my ringtone). This was one of my early NES games which means I've played it over and over again. I would try to start with a different Robot Master everytime, to see if I could beat all of them with just my regular gun.

#30 Hint: In this game, you can get killed by pigs, birds, crashing into a wall, snowmen, whirlpools, giant snakes, huge flames, getting stomped by a robot carrying a machine gun, ducks, a rat kicking a bomb, an oversize ball, falling off a tower. In short, you will die a lot.

Dying a lot, plenty of weird things? Sounds like Battletoads.
