For those of you not buying a PS4 on launch and for quite a while (e.g. a year), how interested are you in buying a PS4 controller?
For those buying it, why? What are your hopes/expectations (e.g. be able to get an edge in FPS multiplayer, not get hand cramps, solve a big gripe you had with the old controllers)
For those who are on the fence, what's making you hold out (e.g. incompatability, unclear messaging by Sony).
I just bought one on impulse today while I was at Best Buy, but I'm going to return it tomorrow now that I've thought about my purchase more, and after realizing it doesn't come with come with a cable. I actually didn't really like the new controller when I played with it a week ago (I was actually buying it so that I would get used to it before I finally buy a PS4, heh), and after reading conflicting information about its compatability I decided not to put my $50 at risk.
Like others have pointed out before though, I think it's a real shame and missed opportunity for Sony. I mean, there's 2 angles they could have sold the controllers under. First is a superior controller that's not only more comfortable, but could give players an edge in competitive multiplayer. Second is the sense of excitement and newness of next gen you get to experience, without actually buying the console.
They could have not only sold this to the 80MM PS3 owners out there, but create a small switching cost too (people would literally already have a piece of the PS4 in their hands).
