Damn it I guess we get another 4 years of the same rehashed game. In the past few years without competition I feel the franchise has gone downhill badly.

Ouch! That's a tough pill to swallow. I'm going to try and look at the bright side and say that now Visual Concepts needs to work that much harder to make sure the next All Pro Football blows the shit out of both Madden and it's own masterpiece ESPN NFL 2K5.

What I'm most worried about though is the comment Moore makes about approachability to the Madden series because it's become too hardcore of a series. If people want a casual football experience, they can play NFL Tour, or the Wii version of Madden. A simulation is meant to be a bit complicated.

I can't wait to see what they cook up this year. Hopefully they worked on the presentation. The weapons from last year we're a very welcome surprise.

Well, this sucks. Theres no question That Madden would be the GREATEST football game simulation......if they had some competition to push them a little harder.

This is pretty common practice in the videogame industry. Usually one publisher has the rights to a certain property, not two, or three, or more. Atari has Dragon Ball Z, EA has the NFL, 2K has the MLB, Activision has James Bond and Spiderman, THQ has WWE, Midway has TNA, etc. etc. Don't look SO surprised just because it's football.

If EA had competition they would get their arses handed to them so fast it'd be unreal.  They couldn't get away with cheap cashins with updated graphics.  You'd have better luck finding innovation and creativity in a dumpster than EA's Madden development team...
