Forums - Gaming - Destructoid: COD Ghosts runs smoothly on Xbox One

So, 720P sucks, but at least there is a silver lining for Xbox fans!

>>So being that the game was running on Xbox One hardware, I'm sure the first thing that might spring to mind is the game's native 720p resolution. To be honest, I had known about the resolution going in, but it barely occurred to me while playing. If I hadn't known, I honestly would have never guessed. Instead, I was far more impressed with the game's smooth performance, owed in large part to its solid 60 frames-per-second. That is to say, I experienced no drops in frame-rate similar to those you might have experienced when activating multiple kill-streaks in prior installments of the series.

Having played most of the previous installments of the series on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the constant frame-rate alone seemed like night and day, and I really enjoyed the one match I played. Whether or not that'll be enough to justify a purchase, especially considering the laundry list of legitimate gripes others have expressed, remains to be seen.>>

PS4 COD Ghosts frame issues widely reported, one example here http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2426827,00.asp

>>Several reviews, however, discovered some frame rate issues with the game. "I did encounter occasional framerate issues during the single-player campaign on PS3 and PS4," according to PCMag's sister site, IGN.

Polygon also found that "the game did struggle to maintain a steady frame rate, especially in hectic multiplayer matches," while Joystiq highlighted "noticeable technical issues" on the PlayStation 4 .>>

So PS4 should really have been 900p (or even 720p)?

But the inter webs say its on both cuz x1 sucks and ps4 is amazing so if the ps4 has issues then the x1 does I'm so confued

He's only talking about multi-player. That's kind of important.

Pretty much irrelevent to me, but there seems to be mixed messages? I dunno...

That title is pretty misleading. You make it sound like destructiod is saying XBONE is fine and PS4 isn't. Instead you have one source (Destructoid) saying it's fine and different sources saying PS4 has issues.

Well he only played one match. But what a hilarious turn of events that would be if Xbone actually played the best.

So the next big Sony fan vs MS fan battle will be resolution vs frame rate, with each 'side' declaring the unequivocal importance of one or the other depending on what side they fall on, right?

-_-

For the record, I've always been a frame rate whore, but don't read anything unnecessarily into that. There's very little that has been constructive about this CoD 'discussion' for the last few weeks ...

The title is so misleading that it probably should be moderated.  The guy at Destructoid played a multi-player match, not the single-player campaign.  He wasn't trying to say anything like the title suggests.

One match and other sources say it suffers the same problems. Yet they say the same thing about ps3 and i haven't noticed anything after 8 hours of play. Also they couldn't try out the SP, Wonder why?
