Forums - Sony - ps4 suffers frame rate issue on ghost

Forza Motorsport 5 is reported to be running 1080p 60fps. That game looks better and has way more physics going on under the hood than a Call of Duty game. If that game is in 1080p that tells me that the Xbox One is capable of way more than whats happening with Call of Duty and Battlefield.

Personally I don't play FPS so I could care less. I play lots of Forza though and if that's in 1080p that tells me that the system is going to be a really good system. Am I buying it over PS4? I have no idea, I still need to see a lot more. I love PS4 too and I love PS1 as well, it broke my heart to buy it over a Sega Saturn but the Saturn was dying, and I had played most of the games on my buddies Saturn already, I just couldn't in my right mind do it. I had to get a PS1 at that time. Although I did buy my DC not too long after.

I think the way its looking is like some games are gonna look better on each system, just like the last two generations.

Example Phantasy Star Online apparently looked better on Gamecube than XBOX. But NHL games on XBOX were the most complete package with custom soundtracks and a much smoother gameplay, as well Gamecube didn't have NHL games the entire time it was released so you needed another system like PS2 just to play it but the PS2 always looked noticeably dated after a couple year of Xbox and Gamecube and their higher res progressive scan 480p.

Even some games looked better on Dreamcast than PS2 and some games looked better on 360 than PS3 and vice versa.

Forza is not a good example the game has no weather, no night driving, no auction house, no store front and less than 150 cars. With so many features cut out the game had no choice but reach 1080 and 60.

Could you imagine them try and pull that off with GT6's 1197 cars. Not a chance the game would be stuck at 720.

It's just over 200 cars actually, Just saying. Oh, and GT6 is 1080p at 60 fps.

I guess they added a few more since I last checked

Well considering IW had to put this game out on 5 platforms. Its not surprising that the consoles they are least familiar with will suffer in one ways or another.

No shit? It's really a full 1920x1080p his time? O_O

Well, it's not really full 1080p it's going up from 1280 X 1080 in GT5 to 1440 X 1080 in GT6. Still, that's a pretty crazy resolution for a game like GT on a pretty outdated console.

Add in that racing games are far less complex and a lot more resources are freed up for the visuals and yeah, of all the games to hit 1080p 60fps, Forza would be it.

However, this currently all smacks of a game not being ready for next gen launch, rather than issues with either system. Factoring in they still also had to put these games out on PS3/360 and PC it's no wonder they had to make compromises.

Launch titles show absolutely nothing. Have people already forgotten how shockingly poor the visuals on Resistance looked when the PS3 debuted? Then take a look at Resistance 3...
