And yes I know the SIMD are the same before you go crazy :P

Then you should know that the floating point performance will scale exactly like that. 15 glops it is and most likely is.

The problem with your claim is that you don't have a reliable source to back them up with. You don't know what IBM or AMD actually did for Nintendo because they will remove and add SIMD to their chips(same for X1 and PS4,) what the contract was, or the design process of the Wii U in it's RAW form, or the hard numbers. They are all conjecture. You are just "assuming," and Marcan never said they are exactly the same either, they have similar architecture which is a "no shit" since it's based on the same original design. Don't put words in his mouth lol.

So marcan42 isn't a reliable source ? BTW AMD doesn't have any experience in Power architectures just so you know so them redesigning the espresso would be a disaster just like amd bulldozer.

@Bold What could I be missing by the words of "yes, three Broadways and more cache."

He specifically said three broadways. Not "variant", not "based-on" or "similar", he flat out said "three broadways".

I do know, I'm just getting hungry so I don't feel like trolling anymore lol.

You shouldn't have spoiled your meal trying to take a chunk out of me by trolling LOL.

Marcan42 is not reliable to the fullest, he does not have the proper tools to test the hardware, as dahuman said... No documentation.

You are wrong about AMD not having experience with Power, they have Jim Keller. >_>

Look... If you had a Bulldozer and Piledriver, would you know the difference by testing them? Not really without the proper tools and benchmarks... :P

Bulldozer is not as a f?*? up as Pentium 4, Pentium D let a lone Xenon and Cell...

Don't worry, I've been trolling in general, kind a thing when I'm bored at work, and nothing has been spoiled yet since I'm not eating for another 10 minutes. We do need benchmark tools though, not that anybody will give a shit without access to the GPU fully for homebrews....

Agreed that we do need benchmark tools.

He's probably more reliable than what you'll ever be.

Is that all they have ? Surely you know that one person isn't enough to redesign a whole processor ?

Doesn't matter. Bulldozer sucked hard and piledriver just sucked a little less. Nice excuse for "proper tools".

Bulldozer is the most screwed up architecture in AMDs entire history of designing CPUs.

Enough damage controlling from you. Isn't it bad enough that you got straight up denied by anandtech LOL.

All of AMD's CPU's currently are pretty horrible in most respects.

They are however excellent at certain price points.

Because we all know that on a scale, there's only "horrible" and the "best". ¬_¬

The FX-9370 and 9590 are far from "pretty horrible in most respects". -__-

AMD needs at-least a 1ghz+ clockspeed advantage to a comparable Intel chip to even be competitive, whilst spewing out more heat, consuming more power. - But comes with the advantage of being cheaper.
Their APU's only advantage against Intel is the superior graphics processor, AMD's graphics drivers are gold plated when compared to Intels.

AMD's Jaguar is good and very competitive... I wonder how Steamroller in Kaveri will turn out...
