at launch

...I have some choice words for you that are better left unsaid ;)

If you don't like the release strategy, don't buy at launch, but all this extra content is free so your whining seems a bit silly.

EDIT: According to the Direct, there will be at least 8 maps added post launch, 5 of which we have seen nothing from

I'm not the one who's defending a game that has one multiplayer mode at launch.

Mario Kart 8 launched with 32 race tracks and now has 48 with cheap dlc.

I barely have room left on my harddrive, so I need to buy a HDD because Nintendo can't include this stuff at launch on disk? So much for free.

Racing games and shooters work entirely differently as genres.  Number of modes and maps needed for each varies widely. A shooter can get by with few but very well designed maps and modes.  In a racing game, tracks are absolutely essential to enjoyment and a large number is absolutely necessary to sustain the game.  You're comparing apples and artichokes (cause an orange would be too similar).

They're more relentless with me. Like I said, I can lap these guys on other courses. AI is so random and broken it seems.

I do use lightweights though.

I kind of had the same problem, but after practicing for a while I noticed where I was going wrong. I don't think there's anything wrong with the AI, I enjoy the challenge. If it were easy enough to beat on my first try everytime, I would not like MK8.

Well, I win the majority of the time, so that's not the problem, but sometimes it's out of wack.

I like to think that the universe is conspiring against me so that my threads will get low replies, I was planning to break that streak by posting the Nintendo financials result thread but then another curveball happened and was unable to do so as well :(

Next time will be mine, next time.

Anywho really happy about the 3D World results, got around playing ut at my parent's house on the holidays and was a lot of fun, the game I'm more interested on the system.

Eurogamer.pt has posted an article about the Splatoon Direct, but also they said something very interesting.
According to them, Nintendo Portugal is saying that the ND will have a very, very interesting announcement for those who own a Wii U.

I don't know where they got this information, but they quoted Nintendo Portugal.
I'll believe them because last time they said the ND would bring something special, the ND ended up showing NSMB 2 for 3DS.

Fingers crossed!

That's interesting. The only thing I can think of would be a MK8-like free game promotion with Splatoon.

A demo would also be great!

A demo it was! :D

I loved the Splatoon Direct. Btw, new trailer, this is an interesting one.

ARGH that theme music.  If it DIDN'T have that darn song this would be a trillion times better.  Nintendo, fire whoever keeps making these asinine marketing decisions.

I actually think that the song is very coherent with the game style, it fits. I understand that you don´t like it though xD But I think it´s effective for younger audiences.

I actually think this song is terrible for young audiences.  Most kids don't like feeling like they're being pandered to, this isn't the nineties.  Seriously, a commercial like this but paired with the music from the skatepark map or the Octarian reveal trailer would have far better appeal to all audiences.
