How did you even fix that?
Trust me, I tried everything. I looked it up and every single thread about it had people not finding solutions. I even moved my console multiple times, moved the place I plugged it in, tried just playing on my GamePad right in front of my TV but that was incredibly uncomfortable so I just said fuck it. There's no way I'm playing games like XCX, Splatoon and Fatal Frame like that. 
I'd rather just pay the money now than deal with it for even longer.

So you were never able to get it fixed? Does that mean it still overheats? :/
I'd recommend getting it sent for repairs though since temporary fixes are, well, temporary. Better to get it fixed up so you can use it without any further issues

You have to pay for the repairs? Aww.
My 3DS was once damaged by water, but the store I bought it from repaired it for free even though it isn't covered by the warranty. I didn't mention it was damaged by water though. :p

I think that your only chance/hope to do that relies on Nintendo making a unified OS for both consoles next gen and that they don't forget about the Virtua Console.
Alternatively... you could get a PSP or Vita and play it on an emulator. It's cheating, I know, but it's an option.

Because it's a niche game with little followers. Nintendo has lots of those games and fans.
Me for example, I'm still waiting on a new Endless Ocean for WiiU that makes use of the GamePad.

Yeah, my warranty was expired and I don't think there was anything the store could've done to fix it. At least they're giving me another 1 year warranty with it though, because there's no way in hell I'm letting this happen again.

Oh yeah that's another game they should make. Oh well, at least Fatal Frame 5 is finally getting localized.
