POKEMON X/Y TOURNEY

Ok so I am currently doing a comparison side by side of the Xenoblade Chronicles X streams from Gamexplain and m3ep. You can find them at twitch.tv/gamexplain and twitch.tv/m3ep

Anyway, I'm comparing because I was curious about the framerate. Gamexplain has it's recording settings locked at 30fps, m3ep records at 60fps. So I'm comparing to see if there's a difference, which there should be if Xenoblade is 60fps. And so far, I do believe the m3ep stream is noticeably smoother, framerate wise.

So two questions: 1) is this a reliable way of determining framerate? 2) does anyone else see it?

Edit: seems the word is currently 30fps locked.  So must be system issues on Gamexplain's end causing the stutter and lack of smoothness.  Disregard.

Yeah, 30 FPS, but here's how you can check it quickly (exact framerates need professional equipment):

- download a 60FPS YouTube video with the 4K Video Downloader

- use Media Player Classic Home Cinema to play it, and use Ctrl + Right to go from frame to frame. When all frames are individual: 60FPS, when there are always two identical frames: 30FPS.

It probably works with other tools, but they're the ones I'm using.

Can I just saying how much I'm enjoying Paper Mario on the VC? A lot of turn-based RPGs fall into the trap of just making you watch animations of your characters attacking for lengthy periods of time (see Bravely Default for example) but with this one the action commands make it so much more engaging and fun.

I also love the paper aesthetic and the overall world is really fun to explore.
