Generous Xbox One owners may one day soon be able to give the gift of games without the need for wrapping paper and sticky tape, Microsoft has hinted over on Reddit.
The feature, which is already available to PC gamers on Steam and to Nintendophiles on the Wii U, would allow you to buy a game on behalf of another user.
A Reddit user asked the community at large if he'd be able to gift games on the Xbox One, and other users quickly consulted their runes and invoked an ancient summoning ritual to put the question to Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb himself. Hryb responded: "Great feature we'd like to add in someday, but it won't be there at launch."
Shouldn't be too difficult an option to implement some time down the line, surely? Perhaps users could even have a sort of wish list à la Amazon, where others can see what their games of choice would be. Would you gift games digitally, or do you prefer to do your own wrapping with a real, physical boxed copy?
