Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wal-Mart to cover up M-rated games

One of the first Dvd's I ever bought was American Pimp. I bought it from the checkout line in Wal-mart for $9.00. There you go.

I hate Wal-Mart and their extra low prices. Yes, I shop there every week, but that's not the point. They try to present this wholesome, family friendly image, but they shit on their employees. Back in 1997, I used to work in a Wal-Mart in Atlanta, and they would literally lock me in the store when they closed at night. I was scheduled to work from 3pm to 11pm. Sometimes, I couldn't leave until 3am. After a few nights of missing my ride home, and walking home through a graveyard (the quickest/scariest route), I quit. Then, the manager told everyone that I WAS FIRED FOR STEALING?!

My girlfriend used to work for their distribution center, but when she missed work because our daughter was having seizures, they fired her. I've heard countless stories about the working conditions there too. But what can you do? They're the world's biggest retail chain.

U don't like their LOW PRICES???? WOW!

the teen covering is a bit much but i dont have aproblem with covering m rated games

^see thats why we need to cover up that stuff

its only a matter of time before we get out of hand with labels and covers like they did in the old days,

Obviously this is a retarded move by WalMart. Absolutely DUMB. I really cannot say anything more about it. Whoever suggested this happen at WalMart and whoever OK'ed it needs to have a good hard look at life.

Assuming this is actually TRUE, it's not a good move.

While informed harcore gamers know what they want when they go to buy a game, the less hardcore crowd don't and games with blocked covers will be ignored over ones that can be seen, resulting in lost sales. That's something I don't think Wal~Mart wants.

M games are already restricted at the register(prompts for an ID check) so unless the cashier isn't doing their job, the ball is in the parent's court, not the retailer's.
