They are just looking for a scapegoat!!!

I do understand it though, they've been failing miserably with their top franchise. Broken it, stabbed it and killed it already, so a bit of fresh blood might be something. Maybe give it to developers who are still interested in making an awesome game instead of just looking for profit. You know, who can put their hearts in it, just like with the first FF.

IMO FF has been more of the same reheated BS for a while... and the quality and taste of it goes down with every reheating

so yeah give it to someone else it can't be worst than it is... well even if it is worst I'd be more interested just to see the changes....

FF XIII lightning returns but no one cares has around ten times less pre orders than FFXIII had.. That is horrible,  Eidos can't make it much worse.

I just hope they can release X-2 without destroying it. Also maybe Eidos could release a fps final fantasy then the combat system will be fast paced enough?

I dont think the western team at eidos could do it. Maybe Crystal dynamics, because Deus Ex is not exactly a technical marvel. Its a very enjoyable game, but it was visible the team struggled to wrap up that game.
A project like FF would be bigger in scope. Western studios act like they are big shots, but only bethesda and bioware are. The others make alot smaller games in first or third person shooter or action adventure. An RPG has to be an expansive world.

They might as well have a go at it. Nothing to lose.
