I can imagine how the general response is to this over at Neogaf, as that is where the worst of the rumors GET overblown. Penello's response is what mature, balanced adults would expect for both Sony and Microsoft.

Yeah, When ever I hear something from sony, they seem concerned about what xbox is doing.

When MS reps talk, they don't seem the least bit bothered by sony. Granted I think it's the american sony reps that are like children, not the japanese ones.

This is weird. He gives an in depth explanation of why the video doesn't show the real UI, and then says he doesn't want to go into behind-the-scenes stuff? He confirms the rumour of this not being real, and then says he doesn't want to comment on every random rumour?

If he was going to pick one last rumour to give an in depth response to before saying he won't respond to rumours, why not the CoD one? A lot more people care about that than this.

This is more important than the cod rumor. the cod rumor is popular but IGN even said if it's true, through thr upscaling you won't see a difference. so weather it's true or not, ghost will look the same. As for this, this is the system itself. 

In short the rumor is "Stupid" lol!

It's only the first version of an OS we all know is getting patched immediately, and probably pretty regularly for some time. And the vast majority seem to want to know about CoD instead, so why not tell them?

or maybe he did not mention it because true or not, the only people who seem to care are the PS4 fans (like you) and make a big drama out of it?

Good response. People will see unfinished software and for some reason forget that the product has not launched and what they saw can easily be unfinished and might be fixed by launch. There is a reason why all these consoles are getting day one updates.
