how is it possible that u know that Nintendo is distancing themselves

As people said, 2DS and the fact Pokemon sacrifices 3D to free up resources. I think 2014 will see the first 3DS titles that doesn't support 3D as a trade off to be more technically impressive.

2DS does not do 3D.  Doesnt mean they arent still making 3D a primary focus but it also shows that they know it isnt the most important thing.  Also adding to that Pokemon which will likely be the most sold game on 3DS soon is only partially 3D.  They also could see that it isnt the most important thing.

I like 3D on mine but sometimes i have it off and other times i have it on.  Doesnt make a huge difference really.

That might be true, but that doesnt mean they distancing themselves and sometimes its just unecessary to make everything 3d.

I dont necessarily want 3D at all cost, i just hate when people Say Nintendo does this or that, when they actually dont know

Pokemon X/Y just sold 4.1 million in a day. 3D seems like it's doing ok.

I've not got Pokemon yet so don't know 100%, but isn't it only the battles that are 3D on Pokemon X/Y? It's sold 4.1 million because it's a full fat Pokemon RPG and is also the first one with polygonal visuals (rather than stereoscopic 3D). Even the DS games were sprite based. So it's actually a huge leap forward for the franchise.

I think it's just a combo of too expensive budgets and customers starting to care less about 3D and bigger price tag associated with it. Customers simply don't want 3D all of the time.

There are many dozens of 3D games for PS3. 3D Gaming is awesome, but it does not work well for everything. Doom 3 BFG, Crysis 2, Resistance 3, Super Stardust, Gran Turismo are all GREAT in 3D. Prince or Persia, Batman, Uncharted, Gears of War, and many others simply don't look right or have terrible motion blur issues. Also, can't be emphasized enough, if you have a nice TV especially a large one, if you don't calibrate it correctly, your 2D and certainly 3D are never going to look correct or optimal.

Yeah, the entire game isn't 3D. I was justing looking to cause trouble. :)

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Doom 3 was a real let down

If implemented on next gen, 3D is gonna look so much better cause ps3/360 sufered from hardware limitations

Hehe fair dos. I'm not actually trolling with the whole Nintendo distancing themselves from 3D. Sorry I should have said "seem to be" seeing as some people seem quite defensive over that.

I actually love me Stereoscopic 3D. I have a 3DS, 3D Plamsa TV, 3D Blu-ray player (with 20+ 3D BDs) and a fair few 3D PS3 games. But overall, the impression I get is that it's failed as a mass market venture and so even with films, the 3D Blu-ray market seems to be greatly scaled back now compared with 2 years ago when every PS3 game was being announced as supporting 3D and the 3DS had just hit the market.

The removal of dynamic lighting, the flashlight change, and the screen tearing at times were really bad, but as for the 3D itself, I thought they did a great job on that.
