It's not really worth all the trouble, but if im going to spend a 100 dollars more, i would want it to be at least the same as the competition.

But what if it looks worse at full HD?

Look at GOW HD verse GOW:A

Obviously the HD port isn't using all the PS3's power, but it shows my point. The second image that's only 720p looks much much better.

I'm fully serious. Devs should sacrifice IQ if it allows the graphics to be bumped up.

Look at the PS3. It was fully capable of doing 1080p yet so many games were well below that. Why? Because dropping the resolution makes the game look better. It's just like the argument of 30fps vs 60fps.

however there is only so much in game graphics you can bump without needing a higher res to show it. its like if GoW:A was SD, they could bump the quality up so much more but it still wouldnt show. there is a need for balance.

I dunno, but they could just purchase a $100-$200 capture card and still record through HDMI in 1080p.  Might have to do s ome research to find which ones will allow them to do so.

Getting a capture card that records hdmi thank to hdcp.  However it is pretty easy to strip hdcp, I bought this from amazon and I capture 1080p from the ps3 perfectly.  ViewHD 2 Port 1x2 Powered HDMI Mini Splitter for 1080P & 3D


But that's illegal.

I mean you can do whatever you want, but a journalist could potentially get in trouble for that.

I don't think it would be a big deal unless you were recording things other than gameplay.  I don't think anyone if a journalist captured ps4 gameplay at 1080p using an hdcp stripper.   I could be wrong.
