CoD 720p on Xbox One confirmed? Also, what's this about the dev-kit prices?

A guy trying to say the Xbone devkits cost $500 compared with $2500 for PS4.

But he forget the any Xbone became a devkit will be launch only in 2014... and PS4 devkits are free for most devs and indies lol.

BTW.

BF4 PS4: 900p@60fps
BF4 Xbone: 720p@60fps
CoD PS4: 1080p@60fps with framerate issues
CoD Xbone: 720p@60fps with framerate issues

Ouch...That's going to be hard to explain.

He made some other issues too but I don't want to brush into NDA territory.

Basically just go with the assumption that he's guessing on everything. Some of his guesses might be correct, or they might not.

It's just because they're launch titles. Both systems are plenty powerful to handle these games but they are just too fresh.

I know there is a good reason for it. But it will still be hard to explain to consumers. Really the only option is not to mention it and hope no one notices.

No one will. The games will still have a 1080p output so that's what most people will think they render at.

Vita just needs to display that picture from the gallery.

JoeTheSlow 2, Kupomogfog -7

An image that can be viewed by anything that has a standard color display as long as it can open the file type and display the required amount of colors doesn't mean it can handle the graphics.  The image was rendered on another device.

Why do we need the PS4 when PCs in the 90s could "handle these graphics." ;)

It's because there's a little bit more to games than just graphics. It's called gameplay.

DS4 12, grandma keyboard 3

I edited what I posted btw.  PCs in the late 80s can't display that many colors because of their graphics cards.

Although you didn't catch it.  So +1 kupo :P.

I don't see why it would be an issue if the res is in 720p. Look at the Wii U and the missteps with it's launch. Issues like this are bound to happen and considering the One (imo) has been rushed to match the PS4 launch, it is not very surprising. Once the necessary drivers have been updated, I'm sure 1080p/60fps will be the standard on the One.

The question is - why pay more to get an inferior and rushed product that may only promise to try to catch up to the cheaper competitor, but doesn't stand a chance at keeping 100% on par either way at any point in the future?

Well, it seems that they're quite a few ppl who are willing to pay for an inferior resolution game on Wii U with better gameplay mechanics than graphics so if the case resignates with One vs PS4..... (although I highly doubt).
