Not much of a line...

Why should there be one?

This is on a college campus.  Surely they should have been a good group of people interested in this.  I would guess nobody knows they are there yet(you would hope).

The whole shop seems to be empty if you notice, and quite big too *envy*

lol i don't live in the USA so i couldn't tell you 100%, though it just doesn't seem logical to see people in line for demos like this, except in Japan maybe lol.

The only lines i've seen where i live (Belgium) have been in front of the Apple store when a new iPhone releases!

So I guess the PS4 isn't that big of deal then...

Oh now i see. This is what you wanted to say all along, huh? Nice to know the kind of poster you are.

Keep it up ;)

No, that's the obvious point that was being made, That only the Iphone is important enough for people to line up for?  I think that if the general public was as interested in the PS4/XB1 as the Iphone, they would both crush.  I am actually very dissapointed that there isn't a line.  If it was near me, I would be there today to play it.

Why? I can't understand your conclusion... I never saw lines in demo stations outside game events.

When the last gen launched, there were lines of people waitng to try them out at the local stores.  They had to have signs up limiting gameplay to 5 minutes.  I would have guessed a lot more people at a Sony store.  Like I said, there must not be many people who know they are there yet.

Yes, but there is a reason gaming is still looked upon as a thing for nerds, my bf of 6 years who has no interest in gaming still thinks this. Even though that gaming has gotten much bigger in the last 30 years, it's STILL not really a popular thing. At least not popular enough.

Apple succeeds in selling something like 37 million iPhones every qurater of a year. The whole gaming scene in it's totality is not half as big as that is!! And Apple is just 1 smartphone maker.

Release <> Demo.

You can be sure there will be line up 15th November as iPhone.

I guess I worded it wrong.  I meant leading up to launch.  As soon as the demo units hit the stores, they were lining up to play on them (BEFORE LAUNCH).  That was here in the US though.

I was working at EB Games in 2005, before they were taken over by Gamestop, when the 360 launched. We didn't have any lines of people waiting to play it. I quit shortly before demo stations of the PS3 and the Wii were setup. Whenever I went back to that store there were no lines of people trying to play either. It's different from area to area.

Apple doesn't even announce things officially until like 2 weeks before they come out.  It's still a month to PS4 launch.  Also a phone is something everyone has.  Game systems aren't as mainstream as phones and Apple has people hypnotized even by products that look and operate almost exactly the same because...I don't know herd mentality because lord knows I don't line up for them but for some reason people love to.
