I've already watched the whole game after playing a few hours of it and not caring to play the rest. For me and my brother (who played the entire game), it was too much of a Matrix ripoff and the combat took less skill than the previous games. There wasn't anything wrong with the past games as far as DMC fans were concerned, so there wasn't any need to redo the origin story, and this is why imo it didn't do as well as the old games.

You can check my trophy list on DMC3 HD if you want, I've finished the game on DMD so I know just how difficult the classic series is in comparison.  I personally enjoy reasonable difficulty over frusturating difficulty though, so I don't care the difficulty isn't as hard as DMD on the older games.  Most people can't even beat the Devil May Cry series on normal so it shows that Ninja Theory balanced the games a lot better Capcom did with 1-4.

The storyline is better and the gameplay certainly isn't lacking  I really like the classic Devil May Cry games but I'm not going to base my opinion on bias that DmC Devil May Cry is a reboot so it's not as good.  Regardless of your opinion of DmC, you can atleast see that it's better than DMC2 which is horrible and DMC4.

I'll just take your word for it. I'm sure you did beat DMC3 HD on Dante Must Die (I certainly couldn't do it).

The storyline being better or worse is a matter of opinion, which is why I stated "For me" it was a Matrix ripoff. It's good that you don't base your opinion on DMC being a reboot. I don't either as if you recall, I wasn't a fan of the original series anyway.

Having to watch my brother play the entire game of DMC2 when we shared a room nearly drove me insane, so imo just about anything is better than that game. I don't even remember DMC4 as I only saw my brother play it in passing, so I can't say whether this game was better or worse than it. My brother says it's worse than DMC4.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Screw that, I want a sequel to DmC. Fixed everything wrong with the DMC series.

You underestimate the potential of a DMC5 would be from the original series creator and director of Bayonetta, the most critically acclaimed Action game of the current generation.

Bayonetta was shit, is why it didn't sell and bombed into te bargain bin where it got most of its sales, it needed Nintendo to save its sequel, which will also bomb.

How are Metal Gear Rising sales, you know, by Kimiya?  Oh right, pretty similar to DmC with only Japan making the difference.

Bayonetta may not have sold 10 million worldwide, but it sold well for a new IP. Also, it's still the most critically acclaimed Action game of the current generation. Go and look at the Metacritic score and you'll see it's higher than that of DmC.

Secondly, Kamiya didn't direct or even work on MGR. That was made by a totally different team within Platinum Games. It also sold more worldwide than DmC.

Damn. Despite Kamiya being an asshole on twitter sometimes, the guy has been earning my respects since I've been playing Platinum Games' Games. Now you come and tell me he was the original creator for DMC? WTF, this man is a genius!

EDIT: though I dislike Bayonetta as well. That game made me stay far away from PG until I tried Rising and Vanquish (And later discover that MadWorld was from the same guys, a game for the Wii I love).

I'd be all for it, but I doubt Capcom will bother with Devil May Cry for a while after the reboot failed to live up to their expectations.

They better have a backup plan in case Deep Down and Dead Rising 3 fail miserably. They're sinking down, and they're not making profits. I dislike what Capcom has become, but I won't like them to disappear.

I figured Monster Hunter was thier ace in the hole so not too worried about them right now.

I just see trend with MegaMan, Onimusha and now Devil May Cry that if something is not white hot or new they tend to just go "meh" and leave it to rot.
