Quite. Nobody likes all protests, but i'm sure that if the government took away something the OP really liked, he too could become one of those "things that block the roads."
Inconvenient? Yeah, but neither is it really your fault. You can't be blamed for being late because of a rally.

I would never inconvenience people who have nothing to do or are not interested in whatever I'm petitioning. If I want to protest, I'll do it in a place designed to hold events like that. For example, I could do it in a public plaza, on the governor's front lawn, etc., but NOT ON THE DAMN ROAD.
I mean, if I don't care about your tripe, why should I have to be delayed by it? Do it somewhere else!
