Forums - General - How early should a parent tell their child that he or she is Gay?

How do you actually know a kid is gay? How old is is he? If he is anything under the age of 13 leave the topic alone. If he is at the sexual age, still leave it alone.

I know it is likely obvious the child is gay, but maybe its not something you tell them at all. Maybe you just make it obvious your home has no issues about homosexuality and let him grow up on his own.

only problem is that I think people who are gay can have a hard time in High school. Kids are mean in High School, and usually only grow out of that meaness after years of college or being out it in the world. I would not want anyone to have to go through that. Figuring stuff out in high school has to be tough.

It is tough, but tellin your child he or she is gay has the potential to further alienate them, which could do more harm than good...

The task of making growing up easier for gay youth shouldn't fall solely on their parents...

A society must think about messages sent to youth of all gender identities...

Teaching children from a youn age that it is something to be kept secret only makes the struggle so much harder...

A shift towards sex positivity would do all members of said society a world of good...

Have a nice day...

how do you know a person is gay or not? there are people who seem gay bat aren't and the other way around
