Forums - General - Do atheists say Goodbye?

Sounds like an interesting fact you just learned today, and needed a way to make a thread about it :)

I agree, Atheists can be annoying as fuck, and no...there wouldn't be world peace without religion (the stupidest thing Atheists say)...but wasn't really worth a thread.

I completely disagree as there will be peace with out religion, and then ish will hit the fan

Why do religious people celebrate the Winter solstice (xmas)? Or why are they off on Sundays?

The meaning of things change. I know muslim people who celebrate Christmas coz it's sort of a national holiday now. I celebrate it too (well, I gather with my family) and I certainly ain't a Christian. No shame in that. Yeah, we also say "Oh, my God" in English, etc.

Pretty silly OP.

Always nice to start a thread with an utter face palm and see reasoned responses.  Well done Whisperer.

lol same reason I celebrate Easter and Christmas, they have no religious meaning to me. Goodbye is polite to say, Easter I get chocolate and Xmas is time for prezzies. But I respect others religious beliefs, to some members of my family these holidays are very religious to them.

Eh... I generally say "later". Not any sort of religious statement, but that's just what I say unless I'm in some sort of formal setting.

Depends what year it is, 2013 since what?

True Hitler and Stalen were both atheists.

Oh and Atheism is a religion. A belief in nothing is still a belief

They say long live satan

Christmas is done in winter in an attempt to help the transition for nonChristians of the time.

Many Christian holidays have changed over the years to help people of other religions just like it was with Christmas.

I wonder if you complain on New Years that it isnt actually the "New year" or run around throwing it in peoples faces like it matters that a year is not exactly 365 days?

As for the Sabath I think that was made pretty clear in Genesis. Also many are not off on Sundays as they would be fired. Seems only certain religions are free to express their religous freedoms

I'm not sure how you're trying to convince Atheists that there is a god (or more importantly, YOUR god), but it's not working.
