COINTELPRO (an acronym for COunter INTELligence PROgram) was a series of covert, and at times illegal,[1] projects conducted by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) aimed at surveying, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting domestic political organizations. The FBI has used covert operations against domestic political groups since its inception; however, covert operations under the official COINTELPRO label took place between 1956 and 1971.[3] COINTELPRO tactics are still used to this day, and have been alleged to include discrediting targets through psychological warfare; smearing individuals and groups using forged documents and by planting false reports in the media; harassment; wrongful imprisonment; and illegal violence, including assassination.[4][5][6] The FBI's stated motivation was "protecting national security, preventing violence, and maintaining the existing social and political order."[7]
FBI records show that 85% of COINTELPRO resources targeted groups and individuals that the FBI deemed "subversive",[8] including communist and socialist organizations; organizations and individuals associated with the Civil Rights Movement,almost all groups protesting the Vietnam War, as well as individual student demonstrators with no group affiliation;

Normally I don't bother with political threads, but I was bored and decided to read this.  Even with your added comments, I am not sure if this is some big joke or not.

If it isn't, then that's too bad for you.  Your comments and even source that you point out in this comment are very outdated.  In the current digital world, it is almost impossible to dictate what people know or what people read as the # of inputs into the internet at 100X more than the world governments have workers that could possibly block them.  N. Kore and China are of the few who actually block the internet from coming into their countries.  They have their own internet that way they can control it.  If you think because CNN or whatever news agency has their own agenda(which is likely) that they can control the other 90%+ of the people who don't watch their channel or read their website, you are on the inside of a padded room.  Theories of governmental media control were based on some facts back then when there were literally 3-4 companies that owned all of the media outlets.  Now, there are 100's of companies and millions of people involved.  Do you really think that they can sway what MILLIONS of people are saying on any given moment?  You need to walk into a school classroom or any standard office meeting with more than 20 people and watch what is going on.  People now more than ever make free choices as how to run their lives( at least in the USA ) every minute of every day.

The United States and other interventionist nations belonging to the UN won't allow that to happen.  No politician in the US that wants to be re-elected will suggest publicly that we withdraw from the de-militarized zone on the Korean peninsula.  It would be career suicide.  People will say that we don't support the troops and we will be laying off some of the military when they need jobs and to stay employed.  Even though, you know, we've been there since the 1950's and are still there for no apparent reason, with absolutely no end in sight.  Politicians and the military higher-ups will cling to as much power as they can for as long as they can, regardless of whether or not there is any valid reason to do so.

Sad as it is, it's the truth.

I remember when I watched that a few years ago,  I couldnt stop laughing throughout the whole thing.   There may be propaganda in the USA (Fox News) and alot of people are duumb enough to fall for it, but nothing tops this video.
