Forums - Gaming - The Witcher 3 EG Expo 2013 livestream: CDP Red on stage to discuss Geralt’s latest adventure

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most anticipated next-gen titles for 2014, and today at the Eurogamer Expo, CD Projekt RED took the stage to discuss Geralt’s latest and possibly last adventure. We really hope it’s not the last. Watch the session below. The Witcher 3 hits PC, PS4 and Xbox One sometime next year.

Sounds like they are being smart about how they utilize the open world. The bit about not sending you across the map for one line of dialog is good to hear. And I like the idea of clusters of events within the wider world. In the past they have mentioned that not doing quest chains after you start them could effect the world, and I wonder how strict that kind of stuff will be. It might end up making it feel like you are stuck on a quest once you start it, which I am not sure it's a good thing.

Man I really hope that they can pull this off, it all sounds so ambitious.

Most ambitious next gen game imo, its the game I'm most looking forward too, if you don't count SE games :P.

I still need to play the first two. If it ever comes to redbox again I will give it a try. Same with those dark souls games. They are on 360 right?

Which system got The Witcher 1? I have been on a PS2 splurge as of late. Along with imported N64 games.

Witcher 1 is a PC exclusive, I got Witcher 2 for 360 for $20, you can find it for pretty cheap.  Dark Souls 1 is on 360 yes, but Demon Souls is a PS3 exclusive.  Demon Souls came first and I'm not sure if they are connected because I haven't played them.

Hmm... I never was a PC gamer much. Do I need to play the first one to understand the second one? Like you kind of have to do with Mass Effect games?

Well Witcher 2 is on my backlog, but I found this http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1969278

I don't think you have too, but it does kinda throw you into the middle of things and doesn't do the best job of catching you up on what is going on and who everyone is. Mass Effect would probably be a good comparison.

Then again some people think that the first game doesn't do the best job of introing people into the franchise lol. Tho I haven't read the books (they are on my very long to read list I am making no progress on) and enjoyed it.
