Forums - Microsoft - China will have its own Microsoft console.

ITS NAME WILL BE "BESTPAD" AND IT WILL BE LIKE A CHINESE XBOX. We give you details:

               Xinhua News

Like you already know, China has strong censorships all over the place. This fact doesn't allow that neither Xbox One or Playstation 4 could be purchased on the country, as they're not manufactured and produced there.

However, Microsoft has worked its way to put on the chinese market the first console not produced there. How? As Xinhua News tells us, what the american company did was associate itself with the chinese company BesTV in order to release such a product.

Few things are known about this console, which has the name of Bestpad but, just like an Xbox, it can reproduce content via streaming (obviously censored).

Over $237 million have been poured into the project, which has even spawned a company named E-Home Entertainment Development just to make this bussiness sucessful.

Will Sony respond to this?

Any thoughts?

iQue version was great for speedrunning. Doesn't Cosmo hold the all time Ocarina of Time World Record played on the iQue?

Wright, I doubt that Sony would respond at all, any Japanese company would immediately know that it would be at a disadvantage to a Chinese one ( assuming the joint venture is 50/50 ) or has a substantial Chinese ownership/ workforce

Sony has no plans with regard to the Shanghai free trade zone, according to Yo Kikuchi, a Tokyo-based spokeswoman. Yasuhiro Minagawa, a spokesman at Kyoto-based Nintendo (7974), declined to comment on whether the company had any plans related to the zone,

So Microsoft has no competence in China if the project comes true?

I think this is a great move to try to push into the market.

So will the 360 re-take It's lead WW? How many units are we talking?

It's just that simple.

Will it have physical games? It would be cool getting China only games.
