We love what the Hyperkin Retron 5 brings to the table, namely compatibility with ten classic gaming system cartridges: NES, Famicom, Super NES and Famicom, Sega Master System, Genesis and Mega Drive, and Game Boy original, Color and Advance. The problem is, Hyperkin's played coy about it's price and availability... until now. It'll be available on December 10th, and it'll be on sale in both Europe (for €89.99) and in the US ($99.99). And, it turns out that the Retron 5 that'll go on sale will have a few more tricks up its sleeve than the prototype we played with back at E3. The exterior's been modified to better cool the internal components, and it'll pack a Sega Power Base Converter that lets you play Sega's Master System games. So, now you can officially start carving out space in your entertainment center for the Retron 5 -- which shouldn't be difficult once you've cleared out all the elder consoles it replaces. Less is more, people.

My uncle and I just saw an older one of these on Amazon a couple days ago and thought it was the coolest thing ever!

If it had N64 I'd probably get it because my N64 has been kinda glitchy lately. 

Interesting, I've been working on building (and in some cases rebuilding) some of my retro collections and it would be nice to be able to play some of the games without having to change out systems (or risk damaging my precious older systems).

I wonder how much these sell, I remember the Retron 3 coming out a year or two ago (athough the Hyperkin part of the name is new to me). I know I could emulate all these games but there's just something fun about using the carts and owning/collecting the games (plus I'm fairly certain emulating when you don't own the game - and really even if you do - is illegal or at least in my opinion immoral).

Could be fun to buy for my sister's kids and get them into some old games before they get old enough to have a new system and loose interest in the oldies :)

If you owned a used game store, it would be cool. Just need this to check games with. It's probably an android device running in the innards with emulators.

Neat device, I'll probably buy sometime down the line.
