Batman: Arkham City is on sale for $10 on xbox live right now. I just wanted to see if people though that was a good deal and if jumping into the second game, without havin played the first would be a good idea? 

I would buy it but play the first one first. Just take advantage of the sale and find the first for like 20 bucks.

If you're ever getting a Wii U then wait. Armored Edition is cheap also. Buy the 1st one, it's just as pleasing.

So you guys think I should play Asylum first?

You'd ruin a plot point behind the second game by not playing Asylum first.

Although I played both, Asylum is not *that* essential. It's a great game, but City is way better.

I say go for it.

$10 is a great deal for a game like Arkham City. moreno is right, you don't HAVE to play Asylum. But if you did, I guess you would have a better sense of what you're getting into.

Also, a word of advice, I would play the game on normal for your first play through. I don't know if it was just me, but on Hard I kept getting my ass handed to me in the beginning and I had to resort to relying only on the counter button. It wasn't until I had more upgrades that the game became more flexible in allowing me to do combos and such.

Thanks guys, I think I'm just going to get city then. Although I just realized that asylum has been reduced to ten dollars too which makes my decision a little harder :P

Get the first one, there are plot points that carry over from the original game.

I played City without having played Asylum. No problems, the game itself is good enough and it doesn't really benefit from the story imo.
