Of course it's disrespectful. That's the whole point. You name your console something as stupid as that and you deserve to get that sort of disrespect.

IGN paraphrased, they didn't quote. MN said Xbone was disrespectful to the people working on the console. |
M$ came up with the name. Now, they have to live with what comes from it. It is extremely common to short hand everything with texting and twitter nowadays. So, XB = XBOX and one=one. So xbone/XBone/XB1(my favorite) or whatever is expected or should be expected. I don't really think it came from people being mad at M$, I think that came later from the haters. M$ screwed up their messaging and now their brand is damaged by the backlash. I plan to get one. I know the nickname might upset some of the people involved, but the more people from M$ talk about it, the worse the haters will push it. Just like the specs thing that M$ just won't quit talking about.

lmfao
Sounds like a porn site where a guy bones ex girlfriends in front of the previous boyfriends
On topic, it seems like a counter measure to stop some dude from making a trolling site for Xbox one

I guess Xbone is the official nickname of the Xbox One.
Amazing nickname I absolutely love the kinnection.

edit: i wonder what he thinks about xbox 180.. |
xbox180 in terms of "getting fucked" is another disrespectful thing as it implies that the console has changed its sexual preference from straight to gay.
XBOne is quicker to write than XBox One and funny. And obviously, if anyone uses it with disrespect, most of the times it isn't against its hard working developers, but against MS execs that decided the original policies successively reversed. But most of the times it isn't true disrespect, just a mild way to poke fun at touchy MS people like Major Nelson, so those using it this way will warmly thank him for notifying them they hit the target.
I tried to you X1 but no one else did, partly because its confusing as its not the first xbox. Xbone became the term in use. It just is the way it is.
Sorry Major you are not oftern right but you are wrong again.
I think it disrepectful to its OWN EMPLOYEES that Microsoft did not propertly think through its new name and how people may abuse it.
XBONE is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT FOR THE PUBLIC TO TAKE THE MICHEAL OUT OF THE PRODUCT NAME.
Get over it you failed again
