haven't read anything worthwhile in a long time, now that i think about it, i need to go to the library XD

I'm a huge fantasy junkie. I enjoy most of the fantasy writers you would expect, like George R. R. Martin, Brandon Sanderson, Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman, Tolkien, etc.

Sanderson and Martin are probably at the very top of the list, though. Martin because he's just amazing in general, and Sanderson because of the fantastic magic system he created for Mistborn. It was really refreshing, and unique, and he was able to create some incredible imagery, and action sequences around it.

I dont read books very most but my friend gave me his Mass Effect book. Is that book worth reading?

I do love Mass Effect, but reading videogame books is a waste of your time. There are tons of great Sci-Fi books like the Troy Rising saga, the enders game etc.

I'm a huge sci-fi fan but have run a little bit dry in that genre.

Favorite authors are Arthur C Clarke, Greg Bear, Stephen Baxter, Jerry Pournelle, Larry Niven, Isaac Asimov, Tad Williams (Otherland tetralogy), Brian Aldiss (Helliconia trilogy)

Favorite series:
Otherland, Tad Williams
Rama, Arthur C Clarke + Gentry Lee
A time Odyssey, Arthur C Clarke + Stephen Baxter
Flood/Ark, Stephen Baxter
Foundation series, Isaac Asimov
Ringworld, Larry Niven

Top of my to read list
The long Earth / The long War, Stephen Baxter + Terry Pratchet
The burning mountain, Larry Niven + Jerry Pournelle
Bowl of heaven, Larry Niven + Gregery Benford
The quantum thief, Hannu Rajaniemi
2312, Kim Stanley Robinson

I switched to fantasy for a while
Memory, Sorrow, Thorn, Tad Williams
The wheel of time, Robert Jordan + Brandon Sanderson
The sword of truth, Terry Goodkind
Game of Thrones, George R R Martin

And anything Terry Pratchett is always a good snack.

I'm currently reading The girl who played with fire from Stieg Larsson. Even better then the first book The girl with the dragon tattoo. Very refreshing writing style after all the pages long descriptions that are the norm in fantasy.

Not here to troll, but I never understood why people read books when we have movies and especially video games.
