The word atrocious was used. It's just like when ign interviewed Reggie and asked him a bunch of questions. When the editor saw the word "meh" used, he knew exactly what the headline should be. And it resulted in total meltdown and shitload of clicks for their site. 

It could be IGN just doing clickbait, or they could be telling the harsh truth. But there is no denying that ign, being the biggest gaming site in the world, holds quite a bit of power and infuence as people weigh in potential investments. 

Meh, still got Dead Rising 3 at least. Not a racing fan at all, but I am sure Forza 5 will be great if you are into that stuff.

Am taking this with a big grain of salt though ... its IGN, I don't really care about the multiplayer for this game anyways, and I don't exactly trust these guys at all really. 

It was rather hillarious when one of them commented that they didn't like "watching the agony and pain" of the enemies you defeat ... it is a game about gladiators, killing, gladiators, Rome, more killing, gladiators, and killing. What did they expect? These two should stick to Style Savy or Sims games if they want to avoid violence and gore. Talk about a random comment.

That's it? A lot of people just jumped on the hate wagon too judging by the comments... The Op says, looks like it'll be a 3/10...

It is an Xbox One exclusive after all, not surprised though. Keeping it classy VGC.

ouch but not surprising this does look like it will be the worst launch title for the xbox one maybe even the worst out of the 2 consoles

If its a launch title then they don't have much time to fix it, but if its launch window then they got time to fine tune it and fix some of the problems.

It does look horrible but Im betting this is a single player focused game. So lets hope they get that right.

To be expected, it's made by crytek

The only problem in my eyes is the non-challenging combat, both singleplayer and multiplayer. It still is in development, that guy said there were only around 2 different executions/animations (vs Crytek: 100?). Still isn't the worst launch title IMO.

An other guy wrote the "Don't worry about Ryse: Son of Rome" article, so no wonder they have different opinions.

I saw Ryse being poor since the first footage I saw months ago. SP is gonna be poor as well. Quite sure of it.

2 things, for the record:
1. Ryse is a launch game, so it has less than TWO mos left for changes; not 3. Games go gold typically 1 month from release in order to be able to manufacture all the discs.
2. For a couple ppl questioning IGN and/or suggesting a bias against Xbox, do remember that Daemon (guy on left in the video) has favored the Xbox for the entire past Gen. I understand wanting a game to be good, but Ryse just doesn't seem to be having that prospect, and negative things being said about it aren't just due to some anti-XBO agenda.

I'm sure there will still be some ppl who end up liking Ryse, but overall it seems like it'll end up majorly disappointing. On the bright side, there's still DR3 and Forza 5.
