They clearly don't care about their own product. They haven't talked about it, nor have they shown anything for it, except for The PlayRoom. However, The PlayRoom is not going to get people to buy it, unless someone has kids so they can play with it. And for the people who don't have kids will use it for like 2 weeks and let it gather dust. And I do understand that the camera can detect what player is sitting where in a splitscreen game, and change the screens where you are sitting. But why haven't they shown that publicly!
Microsoft and Nintendo both have their own peripherals, but they don't need to show how it works because it comes with every system. Sony's camera isn't coming with the system, so they need to advertise is as much as possible to get people to buy it. Something as simple as making a YouTube video about all the features that it can do.
At the PS4 reveal event, Media Molecule showed a tech demo (which I'm assuming they used the camera) of people sculpting objects and making puppets dance and playing instruments. If that was indeed an actual game, E3 and Gamescom would have been the perfect places to show it. But I guess they don't have faith in it. Without any games that utilize the camera, I don't see it selling well.
So, for the people getting PS4's. Do you plan on getting the camera?
