I've been flip flopping all over the place for the past couple of months but finally leaning more towards the PS4 because of the cheaper price. I'll be getting an XB1 probably in 2 or 3 years or so.

Still set on getting an Xbone when Titanfall comes out. Might get one sooner if Ryse gets good reviews. The MP looked cool, I was really digging the way the coliseum would morph and change. Looked incredibly gory too, and I am reading nothing but good things about the gameplay. Dead Rising 3 could also be a swayer if it gets good reviews. It looked so mindless and stupid, kind of like Saints Row with zombies, but videos I saw from the conference looked very fun. The amount of zombies on screen at once is just ridiculous.
No change on PS4. No interesting games shown so far for me, unknown indie games won't sway that a bit. Over time with more press they may become something I would look forward to, but would not buy a $400 console for. I am really surprised Sony did not announce something killer for the PS4. All they have at launch is a meh shooter sequel that will be outclassed by two huge 3rd party shooters.
I haven't owned a console myself, pretty much been gaming on PC all my life but looking at buying a console this gen. Probably not one on a launch date or even within launch window. Both consoles have yet to offer something so appealing to me that's not on PC. Going to wait for a bit and then make my decision.
If I do start console gaming though, I'm probably going to end up buying both.
Intel core i7 930 OC @ 4.0 ghz
XFX Double dissipation Radeon HD 7950 356 bit 3gb GDDR5 OC @ 1150 MHz core + 1575 x 4 memory
Triple channel DDR 3 12gb RAM 1600 MHz

Lol, I was ready to laugh in your face until you said "I'm a big fan of sports." The Wii U's holiday library utterly demolishes that list.

I'm not trying to convince you of anything, but the Wii U does. At least in the "different" and "not on PC" respect. I love playing shooters with the Wii Remote. Splinter Cell has pretty awesome gamepad integration, and there are some really awesome and importantly different IPs from what Sony or Microsoft offer. Wonderful 101 for example. If you can get past the lack in graphical power, it's really a nice peice of kit that offers some truely unique experiences. Best of all though, they aren't trying to fight in Sony and Microsoft's little war, so you won't be seeing any "clone" games that try to appeal to the competition's audience.
Except for a couple of exceptions, I could play these launch games on my 360. So, I'm good with that. Wake me up when there are some games I need to buy a new console for...
I was already interested in getting a PS4 in 2014 because of Infamous Second Son. Sony at Gamescom was a disappointment and didn't make me anymore interested in getting the console that I am.
PS3 has far more better/interesting titles than either of the next gen consoles at launch. There's no reason to go next gen in the near future unless I want to feel that I wasted my money.
I already ordered a PS4 and Gamescom didn't move me either way. I saw some nice Indie titles to take a look at down the road and I gotta say that I'm actually excited to see more of Rime, Shadow of the Beast, and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture after I found out that Sony is likely sinking more into those three games than I initially thought. Killzone's multiplayer is looking like it may be better than many people expected and the new trailer for Infamous just made me want next year to come even faster. I was disappointed that The Order wasn't front and center as well as Sony not having anything to show from their first party studios that we haven't already seen. In fact, I was nothing less than shocked that London Studio had nothing and that Media Molecule didn't at least come out and name drop their next game. However, it was at least confirmed that ALL of Sony's first party studios are working on games for the PS4. Which I was surprised to hear considering that I did not think that Bend Studio nor Guerrilla Cambridge would be doing any console games and would be kept strictly Vita developers. As far as Microsoft, I lost interest in Fable after the first one and the more recent games seem to be lacking. Hopefully this new game brings the franchise back. Fighter Within just made me 'meh' and move on. A lacking Gamescom on both sides but I certainly didn't feel any less confident in my choice afterwards.
I ordered my 9th PS4 today if that counts for midnight launch at my local Bestbuy. Needed a release date before I ordered the one I'll actually keep to see if I would be at school or home

What's WiiU's list? Throw a reliable source this way.
