Forums - Gaming - So did Xbox One or PS4 get any new buyers on VGC today?

I've seen a lot of mixed reaction today.  While both Microsoft and Sony didn't reveal tons of AAA games they did however show off a lot of games today like Kinect Sports Rivals, InFamous, Ryse, The Division, Killzone, Forza, Rime, Fable Etc You get the point.

With all the new footage we are getting I am seeing people getting hyped up in that.  So has PS4 or Xbox One, maybe even both convinced you to buy one or both this holiday or early in the first year?

BONUS QUESTION:  For the People who has already decided they are getting one or both what was the reason on your decision?

It will always be PS4 for me. Glad to see that we are getting Twitch now and I plan on getting a Vita to use the remote play feature a ton. My PS3 is currently in the living room and my family usually watches TV so I don't get to play for long periods of time. Using the Remote Play feature to play PS4 games on my Vita is going to be perfect for me.

I already preordered a ps4 a couple weeks ago. Gamescom didn't really do much to improve my standing really. There weren't that many retail games announced. It was alot of indies which is ok. As for the bonus, I'm already tired of this gen and can't wait for the new hardware to come. There are more then enough titles at launch that I could realistically buy. Some of those titles are
Watch Dogs-Day 1
Battlefield 4-Day 1
Driveclub
Killzone Shadow Fall
AC4
etc
After launch, in 2014 comes titles like thief, destiny, infamous ss and the witcher 3. So there are tons of games for me to make the jump into next gen.

Didn't change anything. Have been moving towards PS4 since the reveals. The original X1 event and the 180 mess pretty much says everything is up in the air at MS right now, so it would be kind of dumb to commit to the console until they figure out what they are doing. Plus the rumours of a version without Kinect is another good reason.

It will be PS4 launch, and X1 either 2014 or 2015.

Getting the PS4 because the Ps3 served me well. A lot of my friends that are 360 gamers were turned off by the Xbox One since the reveal and they're also getting the PS4 so there's no reason for me to switch yet. I will probably be getting one in a few years though (hopefully sooner or as a gift).

Gamescom wasn't a good showing for Sony.

On a whole, for me, GamesCom was a disappointment. I was not swayed anymore than I was yesterday with respect to making a purchase. I have pre-ordered a PS4 with a few games though. I am still uncertain if I will get it at launch since I generally do not buy systems at launch, so if not then at least by March. But the point still stands that I had already decided to pick the system up before today and my decision was not reinforced by today's events.

As for the Xbox One ... that depends on my friends and the true exclusives Microsoft brings to the system. If a significant number of them pick it up and the games are appealing then I'll get one. That wouldn't be until 2015 or so since I intend on getting a Wii U next year as well and a 3DS with a bunch of games (plus Vita and PS3 games). Fun with friends, irrespective of the platform, is something we all should aim for.

-Kingdom Hearts 3 and FFXV (yes I know its multiplat)
-Cheaper price
-The chance of getting more jRPG/japanese support.

This, but I won't be picking one up 'til after April as a reward to myself for graduating.

Xbox for me no other system comes close. Do the sources that add up the pre orders count the ones from the MS store?

Oh right ... forgot about the bonus. Well ... I like Sony's first party IPs, so that's a given. inFAMOUS, Killzone, The Order and DriveClub are games I have vested interest in. Plus, we have yet to see games from SSM, Naughty Dog, QD, MM and the second team at GG. I am sure those games will be great, especially since I tend to like the fruits from those studious.
Also, the remote play feature is a kool addition for me since I play my Vita more than my PS3 these days. That's mainly because sometimes I just like curling up on my couch away from my big screen, so in this sense it is out of convenience.

Lastly, the majority of my friends have jumped from the MS ship and are on board with the PS4. My real friends mostly game on the 360 and are scattered between the US, UK, Colombia and parts of the Caribbean, so playing with them is very important to me. Having the same platform helps and them choosing the PS4 over the XBO makes it a no brainer for me.

X1: Killer Instinct, Forza, possibly free Fifa, Project Spark.
Nothing can match this line up be it WiiU or PS4. And I'm a big sports fan so X1 is gonna be football and soccer's home.
