No, please tell me. Because last I checked Index has much more to it than video games. Or will they just close down the other subsidaries and leave only Atlus open?

Well first of all I think you're confused as Atlus is the one up for sale here not Index. Now the reason could simply be because they're Nintendo fans so they want all games on Nintendo platforms and such nonsense, but there's also the whole SMT x FE deal going on that would be 100% safe from cancellation if Nintendo bought Atlus.
