Damn this thread has got bigger then I expected. Looks like I need to post this up for some points.

Halo was not concieved by MS and neither was the Kinect. They were both already in development and MS invested in them after they bought their companies.

 

When MS acquired Bungie the thing shooting aliens was not even Halo. It was a project of game.

After a MS backing, Bungie developed one of the most successful and iconic franchise to ever grace the gaming world.

They are natural leaders. On online features, console UI and other business models...

MS's gaming division is relatively new(still) to a growing Western gaming world that started to mature in the 2000. MS game studios is maturing on the growth of Western gaming boom.

Nintendo and Sony were at home whenever they tried to for a studio.

And MS macro-vision for the market is way above Sony and Nintendo .
