Which has the better library?

DS 170 64.39%

PSP 62 23.48%

See results 32 12.12%

Total:264

The DS IMO is the best (maybe 2nd best) handheld ever it had everything any gamer could want. The PSP had some good games but where about i could do a top 10 video on the PSP games, i could not with the DS because it just had that many great games!

Even in the original posters gripe about loving RPG games the DS shined in that area as well with quite a few gems!

Chrono Trigger
Radiant Historia
The World Ends With You
Dragon Quest IV
Dragon Quest V
Dragon Quest IX
Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy IV
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
Mario & Luigi: PiT
Pokemon Black/White/Black 2/White 2
Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
Suikoden Tierkreis
Devil Survivor
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
Etrian Odyssey 1,2,3
Disgaea DS
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
Orcs & Elves
Contact
4 Warriors of Light
Nostalgia
Luminous Arc 1/2

This is just a few of the them as well! The DS had an overall wonderful library of games where the PSP just cant even get close. Dont get me wrong i enjoy my PSP alot and the great games it produced over the years but comparing it to the DS just is unfair with the sheer amount of gems on the DS.

yeah are coming out in japan...mmm useless for most ppl here
also you should give some examples on how PSP has more and better rpgs because i simply dont believe you

Oh I did forget to mention the Ys games (sadly I just discovered the series this past year), and although I played them on my Vita, they are still PSP games. I liked the retro charm of the first 2, Oath in Felgaia was a nice change and liked it, while Ys Seven I had more fun with it than even TWEWY (and it was a brilliant game nontheless). Whoever hasn't played Ys Seven get it NOW before Celcetta comes Stateside (or to Europe), the storyline is well executed and my favorite music is the one in the Holy Precints of the Wind (you will know which one when you're crossing the bridges). My only gripe is that they took away the New Game + the series is known for (WHY?????), and on hardest setting the game is very challenging and you need to level up a bit (I platinumed Demon's Souls and nearly beat Silver Surfer when I was about 12, I know what challenge is like, I was born in 81).

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

PSP because the DS never grew out of ports phase. PSP was the same way at first but eventually became a good place for stand alone game's and actual sequel's/spin offs

I always thought the PSP has a lot more ports/remakes than the DS ever did myself. Still it was cheaper way to get games like Valkyrie profile without paying the obscene PS1 prices.

Well the PSP had Grand Theft Auto and Monster Hunter, but I say DS because it had way more addicting games.

Nice try, but have all the Final Fantasies up to IX thanks to the PSOne classics INCLUDING VI which beats all FF's you just mentioned lol. Chrono Trigger PSP has, as well as Chrono Cross. If you are bringing up ports the PSone has it beat and that's all on PSP (Alundra, Vagrant Story, Legend of Dragoon, Xenogears, Parasite Eve 1 and 2, RE 1,2,3, Lunar Games, among the amazing Psone library). Now as for actual games on the portable we have both GoW games (CoO/GoS), FF: Crisis Core, the better KH (yes I played both thanks to the DS with R4), Ogre Tactics: LUCT, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Ys:Oath in Felghaia and Seven, God Eater Burst, MGS: Peace walker, VP: Lenneth, Legend of Heroes, both Dissidia games, MLB the show, BlazBlu games, Lords of Arcana etc (yes games I have personally played and own most of that list, some borrowed), plus the list goes on and on of games I've played and others I've heard of but not included here. It comes down to preference I suppose, but for each DS game you name I can name an equal or better one, and it's sad that you resorted to some ports that are already on PSP to try to make your list bigger considering all I have to mention is the PSone classics which is the golden age of rpg's pretty much. The best game on DS is perhaps TWEWY, and even the Castlevania games fall short because I bring up Symphony of the Night all all your Castlevanias just died: EAT THIS!!! lol. Anyways when is TWEWY 2 supposed to be coming because that is one game (along with mirror of fate) that I would take the leap on a 3DS for.

Are you talking about my list?  Because I was naming PSP games.

Not you lol, painmaster. His ok list full of ports is what made me laugh. That's why I said, the moment anyone brings up a DS list with the oldies, I just bring up PSone classics and their argument just went to the garbage just with Vagrant Story, FF VI, and Symphony of the Night alone.

going by metacritic DS has near 60 rpgs with a 70 rating or higher
PSP on the other hand barely reaches to 40

so PSp having a better rpg library is your opinion based on your limited experience and you shouldnt be so categorical bout it.
im trying to help you
